Right after the American Beauty/Workingman's checks came in and before the Movie.

God bless & Good Luck to you Hardpan on the Shot

I checked it out, there’s a list of his rides I gotta further check out, pretty cool. Thanks, and I didn’t mean to be glib in the face of the adverse reaction your friend is having to the vaccine. I hope he recovers soon and well ❤️

  2. Well, this was an awesome time. The insane wind of the previous day slowly diminished over the course of the day to a light breeze at show time, and completely laid down by the end of the night.  Crisp, beautiful sound.  Franklin’s opener was a continuation of the night before, as the rain started before the band was able to get to the Franklin’s encore of 6/9/76. Skip was center stage for both nights. No detectable rust on Eaton’s playing at all, he has been making an amazing recovery. The band noted the Kentucky Derby after The Race is On or Run For the Roses. Bird Song > Other One verse 1> Bird Song was killer.

Jack Straw to open the second set was a nice surprise, always a treat to hear that song. The rest of the set was excellent. The jam out of space was Other One themed, with Skip playing around and teasing the kickoff (which he didn’t do in there first set). “My Favorite Things” tease was in there for a couple bars. The drummers came back on and Skip kicked off the Other One with authority, a short jam and reprise to finish off the second verse. Day Job was dedicated to everyone working hard to stay above water over this tough past year. Overall a great weekend 😃

I just heard from a kid that it is going to be broadcast to radio, but won't be amplified. We were stoked to see DSO again, but if you can't feel it in your body what's the point.

Please tell me that they will be LOUD or when they are going to play with amps.

Figures some states would pull this shit.

It’s mentioned in a couple places on the website that the music will be broadcast through a festival PA, as well as though an FM signal for those who want to stay in their cars. I checked before I got tickets, but you got me nervous! I saw a couple FM broadcast shows last fall, and they were tough to enjoy. The PA drive in shows I saw were awesome and loud, and these will be too. https://www.sussexcountylive.com/information

Thanks. Size shouldn’t be an issue for us. Just me and my 2 boys, my truck, tent and ez-up. I was mainly curious if we’d be able to hear from camp during the day and late night. No biggie either way. Can’t freakin wait.

Hopefully we’ll get more info soon. Hope to meet you there. Where’s your pod located? We got row K, pod 190, looks like just to the left and in front of the soundboard.

Wonder what area the camping will be. Like jubilee VIP camping area or former car camping area from past jubilees? Looks like the whole field will be pods. Maybe like up behind the tree line?

I sent an email asking about this. I was thinking maybe where RV camping took place. They didn’t specify the location, but said each camping space is 15x30 feet, and that each site will be allowed to have one vehicle on it. All your gear and your car has to fit inside the 15x30 space. We are just gonna squeeze in there with two small tents, a canopy and my truck. I replied by saying that the camping space is small to include a vehicle if you have your campsite and pod maxed out with six people who may not all want to share a tent, hopefully they’re a little lenient with the borders of the sites.

  8. DSO just announced a pair of socially distanced DSO shows on May 28-29, to go on sale this Friday at 10am est. 8x8 pods to hold 2-5 patrons each, $40-85 per person per night, I’m guessing based on number attendees per pod, $150 camping fee, for what they say are very limited camping spaces. I’m gonna get a ticket for me and Jake when they go on sale with camping, excited at the prospect of distantly gathering there with some of your fine folks. I’m sure this will sell out very quickly, especially if you want to camp, so be ready on Friday 😃

  9. I agree with it being a good fit later in the first set. Just in time for some cool, blue, calming tones to help cradle an excited mind.  I would say I like it to smooth everything out and give the audience a breather after something raucous where the house gets all hot and sweaty, like a cowboy suite, Minglewood, maybe Passenger, etc.

  10. What a killer show last night. Fun Day Tripper to start, followed by a rocking Alabama >Greatest Story. Roses was a nice breather and sweetly played. Sunrise was good, the only break from the 80s theme in set 1. Bird Song >Let it Grow>Bird Song let me get lost inside for a while, and the Bird Song reprise was a welcome surprise.

Set 2 came on strong, with Help>Slip> Stranger leading the charge with waves of intensity. Ship of Fools was nailed by Jeff, as Zuck said. Truckin was fun, with big bombs. Low Spark eased its way out of Truckin, slinky and sneaky sounding, and was superb. My only notes from the night say “delirious spiraling keyboard” during  Low Spark, really was enjoying what Barraco was doing. Imagine instrumental out of space was beautiful, with Jeff and Barraco leading the way, with Barraco using some kind of amazing sounding delay, full band eventually joined in and held the crowd spellbound. Season of the Witch was fun and spooky, Morning Dew was splendid as always.  Had a great time hanging out with good friends and throwing it down last night. Made it back home for Halloween scavenger hunt with the kids, everyone have fun tonight and tomorrow 🥰

My favorite Jack Straw is from this night, what a scorcher

  12. Thanks gr8fulpair. I’ve been lucky that they have been able to play a bunch within driving distance. This was my last one until the Halloween weekend, been nice to catch a few. Saw LIkeEveryOne last night as well as a bunch of familiar faces and friends, it was fun.

  13. I might have some songs mixed around, and possibly one missing in the first set. This was a fun show, an actual real live show that we parked and walked into, with spaced 8’ square grids to allow for social distancing. The staff was polite but firm about the rules (masks on outside of your grid was the main one). The venue was on a large farm, with the concert lawn on a fairly steep slope. Tough dancing terrain, my feet and legs are killing me. Rained on and off all day, continuing on and into the concert with light to moderate rain. We got wet but it was fun.

The songs were all solidly played, Foolish Heart and Terrapin were the highlights for me. Had fun all night, my apologies to whoever has the grid I was in tomorrow for any damage I might have done to the wet turf. Did not slip or fall once, though! Thought for sure with the wet grass I would go flying at some point in the night.  😃

  15. My first 69 style show, this was a splendid night. This venue was excellent, full PA with great sound. Fall colors starting to show and nice weather with a brief and refreshing shower of light rain mid second set.

There was a little trouble in the first couple songs, where the PA cut in and out and we could only hear the stage, but it was quickly fixed and caused no further troubles. Doin That Rag was sung with youthful exuberance. Dark Star was fantastic. Death Don’t was masterfully delivered, and Easy Wind broke the somber mood perfectly and finished the set out with fun.

After a little break, Dancin got everyone on their feet, really high energy jam in there. My first time seeing them do Attics, great harmony singing with Skip soaring high. The final sequence was relentless, high energy throughout. Me and Jake persevered, but it was a battle of endurance to keep up. Perfect Ripple encore. Killer show and it was a thrill to see a full onslaught 69 style show for the first time.

We had the pleasure of meeting Franknkeene after the show and he kindly offered us space to camp out at his place,  thanks Frank!!

  17. It was cool to see Lisa on the harmonica on CC Rider, and also on Hand Jive. Kind of like Barraco as Pigpen on Satisfaction earlier this month in Canandaigua, it is cool to see them further blending their collective talents into their elective shows.

@Chuck - after the quarantine let's head to India and Nepal like we once discussed at set break years and years ago (was it in Lowell or Princeton?).  Much better timing for me these days.  I'm a little familiar with public transportation from Agra to Shimla.  Train outta Delhi, rickshaw, and rent-a-car (which btw comes with a driver).

@Hardpan   If you see someone wearing a blue sweatshirt with "Late Show with David Letterman" on it, that is me.   Around the social guidelines would love to meet you!    If you need a place to camp out let me know - you can at my place.

Hey Frank, it would be great to meet you, and thanks for the kind offer on camping at your place. Would be great to meet you and take you up on the offer, I’ll keep an eye out for you over there!
