Forum MVP Teacher Matt Posted July 25, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 25, 2010 In terms of crashing at Chucks or my place.. the casinos are giving rooms away at such great rates it is actually smarter, safer, cheaper, and wiser to stay on the strip.. with that said I always am up to putting up friends and opening my home... the last time DSO was here they played this venue and Chuck and I got rooms on the strip for like $49 ... MGM is right next to it.... and I live 15 miles from the strip (even though I can look out my window and see it.. it sits at the bottom of the valley ) and Chuck lives about the same distance coming from the other side of town... The Hard Rock Casino/Hotel/The Joint (music venue) is not on the strip... this Hard Rock Cafe is on the strip when the Hard Rock re- did the Joint last year they upgraded it and added 2,000 more seats... so the Hard Rock where Furthur is playing is the Joint.. the bigger room..5,000ish DSO is playing at the venue to accomadate smaller crowds... 500 to 1200 type crowds... Gotcha , I didn't know that ... well , like you said Matt , a night at the MGM or one of the hotels close to the venue with a short walk or right next door to the venue is much better then a drive and you can't go wrong with a $49.00 stay ... A trip to the west coast , specifically the bay area would be a nice way to spend the holiday weekend and hit any shows through the week on the way to Vegas , if that's the way the tour goes and time permits ... frequent flyer miles are saved and ready for use if needed ... Guest jazz-man Posted August 2, 2010 Report Share Posted August 2, 2010 It's quite possible there may be some beautiful women there who have no freakin' clue who DSO are but are there to drink and dance since they don't have to work that night and wanna party.
