There was the outdoor show back in about '06 in the nice sculpture park. That was a lot of fun and the weather was very pleasant. I believe some did grumble about the set list and its brevity, but that was just good-natured chiding by the deprived.

Anyone have any Intel on when we the obligatory one show per calendar year for the STL is happening in 2012. It's usually freezing cold out..Would love to see DSO play outdoors here in the Spring/Early Summer or Fall..

This post is Sans bitterness

Look for us some time in february!

I would love to see DSO play the newly renovated Peabody Opera House, the former Kiel Opera House in St. Louis. The venue has been closed since 1991. The grand re-opening is set for this Saturday, Oct. 1st. I'll be there on Oct. 8th to see Roger Daltrey perform the WHO's Tommy. I can't wait for that one!!!

Take a peek inside the Peabody Opera House

I was at the Peabody last night for Wilco...amazing show..Tweedy pulled out New Madrid, and Casino Queen for the old hometown..

It's an incredible venue....but too big for DSO (at least now)

Plus Pagaent has more room to shake your bones if your so inclined....

Yeah, I figured the 3,100 seat Peabody would be too big for a DSO show in St. Louis. Just putting the word out there about the venue.

Reading the Wilco St. Louis reviews on another message board, ppl are saying the acoustics are outstanding inside the Peabody.

I can't wait to hear "Tommy" on Saturday night!!!!!!

Wilco puts Peabody's acoustics to the test

The outdoor gig at Sculputure Park was great. Great music and great setting.

Here is a neat place in Alton, Illinois(not to far from St. Louis) that would be a great spot. The Clark Bridge as a backdrop is really cool at night. St. Louis needs another outdoor show.

Alton Riverfront Ampitheater.
