I’m sure tea saw you. He doesn’t miss a stream. I think we may do Lazy summer home late august and camp. Indy should be a bit cooler by then. No way you’d want to camp in my area end of august. Likely still in the 90s

night 1 we were so tired trying to adjust to a night time schedule from a 9pm bed time that mei actually said at drums space she wanted to go to sleep. I made her push on but at 12:45 we were in the tent asleep. By night 3 i had my sea legs and a set 2 start of HSF is my favorite intro. Energy plays a huge part in musical enjoyment
-
Definitely night 3 set 2. It was a full on face melter.
-
If you fly to see every show, many songs get old but you see more shows than anyone likely. I’ll take all the Beatles that the band wants to do dead style. And you had to know we were getting a love the one your with and oh darling this weekend.
-
thats like slugging a pint of whiskey. With no tolerance, not sure how he could play.

That set 2 was a face melter. The help>slipknot was out of this world. I don’t actually know if the jam was end of help or if it was all considered slipknot but it went dark and was like you were in an evil trippy jazz club. The Franklins was more melt than just happy dance. I caught myself standing still with mouth agape several times during that pre drums segment. They really jammed those out deep. Easy wind is a top 5 dancer for me but it too was off the chain psychedelic and was very different than old school ones. It was one of those what could have been if dead jammed it in the 80’s. Pre drums many of the songs left the building for large segments replaced with jams you probably couldn’t identify if you didn’t know what song we were in and I love that!!!! Give me all dso originals from now on. A funny part is I think this is the 1st time dso did 2 originals at jubilee. It’s always 2 recreations and an original so we were like when did the dead ever open with UJB>the wheel. Then blow away comes up and we are like well that’s that. its been a minute since we’ve seen dso and I forget just how good they are with no weak links. It’s really rare to have a band where everyone is so so good and so in tune with each other at all times. The complexity of the jams were so ludicrous. We’d look at each other like this is perfectly brilliant. Now it’s time for the band to add another semi and travel around with those Meyer sound PA’s. Yes the buildings may crack open but that’s why venues have insurance. The ceiling collapsing would be the worry. Maybe another semi with steel netting to protect from falling debris would alleviate that risk. and I can’t forget that drum segment. Dino was looping rhythms then moving the sound everywhere and rob was on some trippy sound machine doing the same. We were in a bubble with the sound flying all around us. It was really such a badass drum jam taking advantage of the best PA they play on all year. Someone told me for the lost lands festival at buckeye lake that on the main stage they have 3 of those arrays on each side instead of the 1 10-speaker Panther array on each side at jubilee plus no telling how many additional bass stacks. Now that would be insane to see dso on before we all were forced to learn sign language.

So this was the 5th time the finished version was played. 4-29-71 was the last time it was played without the hook and they didn’t play it again until 3-5-72.
-
Holy crap. Saw someone on CashorTrade trying to sell their DSO Was fest tix for $220 each which is face and it’s just dso playing not an all day fest or anything. Those were official platinum for 2nd row center. I’d pay more for DSO than pretty much any band but not paying $220 a ticket. Geez. I can guarantee no one on CashorTrade is buying those
-
Wow nice. You made the trek up the weekend before jubilee?
-
At this point GSET wasn’t finished right. At one point I went and listened to the 1st 10 or so GSET and they were still constructing the song. I don’t think it had the hook yet.

Porchestuh is the correct spelling. I’ve heard Vic say it and he’s the expert

We’ve gotten down every time your wife has performed. How could we stand still during Jerry Band. I always enjoyed the very Garcia band. I don’t want a full out skull and roses, but 3 other dead bands seems about perfect. We are all at least master level dead historians but I doubt many could name a song on the billboard top 50 right now. Yeah everyone knows WAP. It’s a great song but that was a few years ago and if you had teenage daughters that was probably an uncomfortable song to see them do on Tictok. In the name of decency I’ll leave it at WAP. in good news there isn’t a chance of rain for the next 10 days. Anything but rain is tolerable when camping.
-
It absolutely looks like perfection bro. 80/55 is perfect. 68 showtime and 60 at end. No chance of rain all week so will be dry ground. Pumped!!! A buddy of mine had some comment about the lineup. I said what do you mean. Dso is playing 3 nights. Oh you mean the bands we go check out for an hour or 2 a day while taking a stroll. Lineup. Gotcha. the temps are going up and it’s pretty clear industrialization is causing it, but no one I know is willing to completely change their lives for it. So you are like omg global warming but drive an SUV to work solo every day. I care but nothing I can do. I ain’t stopping travel. I like my house cool in the summer. It’s happening and humans will need to relocate some. But stopping it means changes no one would be onboard with.

sorta sad how things change. Years ago the 4 of us never missed those VA shows. Now only sunny holding it down. Gonna miss you 3 at jubilee. You gotta get back on that horse bro. Chris has permanently bowed out on jubilee :(((( even last year mei and I did the cincy DC Richmond run. I think I’ve flown to Reagan like 5x for dso.
-
Chris has been wondering why they don’t do a Hey Little one>liberty>new potato caboose>so many roads. Well he’s just waiting for they hey little one bust out. you know the Norva gets the goods. The salt of the earth gang got the only 1968 show there years ago. We cut such a rug we had to strip down post show to get the wet clothes off us. This would have been crazy fun too

The good news is the forecast has revised downwards. I remember year 2 was predicting like low 45 or so and a few days later it was 32 and tents had frost. I’ll take heat all day over that jubilee. That sucked. No one even bothered with camp fires it was so cold. Jump in your sleeping bag and shiver lol.

ADA is the shit. The thing I learned is they weren’t allowed to ask why you wanted in ADA. They could only say “this is the ADA section”. At that buckhead theater it was a massive flat area next to SBD in an otherwise sloping venue. I had my boot dance in full effect. That was the only really good ada on the tour. The others were so bad that we GA’d it. I also used the ada at a Deadco show in this sloped area. I asked the lady if this was ada, flat rectangle at the front of the mid pavilion. She said yea. I said thanks and walked in. Slopes suck. Not too proud to take a flat area plus my left foot hurts while dancing on a slope for hours. If others needed it more than me, I’d have moved along but most of the time they are empty.
-
The forecast temp keeps going up. Set up day on Friday can be rough in the heat, but after that it’s gravy. We mostly just go naked with no sunscreen like they did in Venetta in 72.

Excitement building!!!!! JUBILEE!!

Last year Chuck the vip car camp area had 12” deep tire marks from cars coming in. A few got stuck near us. We put down a tarp to walk on as your shoes would get stuck in the mud and come off your feet. It was pretty brutal. No grass of course or there would be roots. We were joking that you could tell vip people because they had mud up their legs and GA peeps where no cars destroyed it were pristine. We went barefoot to set up camp as it would ruin your shoes.
-
We need to pray for no more rain at least for next weekend. Legend valley has 3 straight fest weekends of fests which destroyed the vip camping area. This weekend they are getting wet. Just need it to stay dry for the grass to grow. Cars driving is the culprit as the bowl camping was dry and mud free.

AC I think the SBD that bootleg Craig does is all you get. It seemed like a bad chord output that would pop and get better then slowly over 20 secs get worse again. It was either the output Jack in the SBD or the chord.
-
Hyryder def goes deep but evidently they became friends with Bill and he wrote that set 1. Unfortunately their SBD broadcast had technical glitches so the sound was a bit messed up. I love that they do every show with a FB stream with SBD audio. It’s just a friend who does it on his own for peeps at home and you can see ammagalim crew dancing last weekend. Teas always watching but hasn’t hit them live yet. We got PG to go during covid for a fun weekend. well I saw your post after I posted. I thought Charlie said bill wrote the setlist. He said bill obliged them with this setlist. It will be fun. It will be weird. I assumed he wrote it all

i think the fans are all in the seats or dancing in the concourse behind it. When they played that Charlotte stadium, they had a little bit of area on the field ropes off to dance but it was too packed but pretty sure you can’t in Rochester this needs to be clarified. Usually with 2 shows it says 2 nights. It also mentions just recreating 1 show. I actually do see it on the FB message that it’s 2 days now.
-
Tea did you see that on Hyryders 1st show post skull n roses that bill Walton wrote their 1st set setlist and it was pretty weird. here it is.
