  1. Also I wish I could change the post title. It's supposed to say randomness not less. No way to edit title
  2. This ain't their future so they don't care. Plus they are probably partying until 3am like most of us did on our 20s. The key is for you to stop caring. Drop out and tune in, bro...
  3. Yeah......internet. Chuck you've always been the caretaker here.
  4. Turns out I was wrong. There aren't enough cops in hampton https://ibb.co/nLKdC5][/url] hd pic upload https://ibb.co/mqpWzk] hd pic upload
  5. Talked to a guy from the show in his 60s about the contrast of live free or die and the police state in hampton beach. He lit up a joint and said something to the extent you did. Live free our way or die. He said the whole state is a police state.
  6. Wave to the popo. They love hippies there. Having a cardboard sign would probably get you a ticket, serious. The newest biggest building in town is the police station/jail right on the strip with fresh razor wire. They ain't posin'. It's 500 feet or less from the venue and concerts are a good revenue stream for the jail.
  7. Good article about the experiencing self and the remembering self regarding vacations(tour). The remembering self favors new experiences and many different ones. Taking 2 week vacations has much less impact on our mental well being than shorter ones with different experiences. Also says planning well in advance and talking about the experience after will add to that. I guess the planning in advance gives you something to look forward to and remembering can bring back the happy memories. I'm a firm believer in this. Having a trip always planned on the horizon definitely will keep the blues at bay. With nothing to look forward to, life has you by the balls. If nothing else, jubilee is a great constant and provides lasting memories. Also I believe part of the differing experiences involves the different people we interact with. I'm using tour as an example as my travel is nearly exclusively devoted to music as we have no kids, but hanging with varying groups of great people is also key to me and even interchanging friends into different groups like our fun Boulder group creates a different dynamic that varies the experience even more. God forbid I'd have limited vacation like 10 or 15 days a year but if I did I'd be exclusively doing as many 3-4 day weekends as I could do. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/theres-scientific-reason-why-2-145000104.html
  8. I highly recommend the movie Baby Driver. Fantastic soundtrack as music is a key part of the movie and just a bad ass movie in general. It's a theater must see. Don't read anything about it. Just go in blind. It's stylish intense action/suspense. That's all you need to know. Im an ultra rough movie critic and this movie was stellar. I think being a GD fan makes us expect perfection a little more with our art than other people who are ok with disposable art like much of today's pop music.
  9. Heard a rumor that the elusive Tea for Texas was making a 2-show appearance. Note this is just speculation at this point, but if the rumor holds true, it should be a party for the ages. Vip packages are available CID entertainment for the Tea meet and greet. Edit: this is sarcasm so dont kill my Ron for muddying your tour info page
  10. 4th of July fireworks seemed to be missing something this year............. I know what it was. They werent playing dead while shooting them.
  11. After deep discussion tonight with the gf, I realized that I'm just creating negativity comparing DSO to deadco and we as fans should be happy we may get more shows now. Most of these emotions of mine in the deadco thread came when talking to people at deadco that to me felt like they were disrespecting DSO or just uniformed and this was my defense mechanism at work. I need to stay on the bright side of the road and avoid needless negative vibes.
  12. I wasn't disrespecting anyone. I was making a joke how people don't realize that any dead type show is not a seated event. When the Iowa city show started there were literally 6 standing. The 4 in our group and 2 other DSO regulars. By the end almost everyone was up letting loose. When I read the quoted part it made me laugh as there's no crowd like a dead crowd and a DSO crowd is definitely a more serious musical crowd than deadco. Not a lot of tourists are at most DSO shows. Definitely the people I meet at DSO shows are a step above crowds you meet at the large shows with massive lot scenes. DSO crowds are much more serious deadheads imo.
  13. Shortly after sunrise, from mid-June through mid-July, rows of lawn chairs begin appearing between the limestone cliffs of Veterans Park. It's the time-honored method for reserving a prime spot for a great evening of entertainment! Get your chairs ready for our 51st season of admission-free summer concerts, music and theater, and join us a Springfield tradition - The Summer Arts Festival! Get those chairs ready people for a great night of sitting and knee slappin'. I'm gonna sit my ass off at this show. Let me know where everyone is going to sit during the show so we can all sit our butts off together......
  14. Yes it's his 1st and mine as well. We can't wait. Love new experiences!!!! Fuck things. Give me memories!!
  15. Sorry for your loss. The music will help ease your soul. Amd on a bright note, the weather looks epic. Clear skies with Mid-high 60s at showtime and finishing at around 60 degrees. Can't ask for more perfect conditions for an outdoor show.
  16. Did you tell her she's prob got a 15-20% chance of one? But then again thats why we keep coming back. These current pop artists and even solid artists from the 70s and 80s have the same setlist night after night. I've wanted to see the pixies for years but was looking at their setlists night after night and are identical except for a 1-2 songs. How could u follow them. But the good news is I just want to see them once. I've been in my deadhead type bubble for a while. Pretty much dead or panic is all I've seen for 3 years. It's my safe space. I'm a dead snowflake. Seeing van Morrison in September may be strange. His music has a definite dance groove similar in ways to the dead's beat, but man I don't want 50 people videoing me dancing. That's not an issue at any GD related show but do that where half the people will have their phones out and I'm afraid I'll become a meme.
  17. I never used the word fart until at prob 21 yrs old. Always hated that word. Am I super weird.
  18. So thought this would be a good thread for random thoughts or things that dont fit in a category, i.e. Seinfeld like randomness. So was listening to some pop station today, and some rapper came on in the middle of the song. I didnt comprehend why it was needed but it seems to be a trend where you have as many people credited as you can. So......it reminded me of this SNL digital short which was brilliant. Keenan Thompson is so funny in it. Its short so watch it.
  19. Im adding a contribute button to me. I feel like I'm just giving away life secrets that I should save for my book. All celebs write a tell all at one point. Mine will me like Did she use spam for deodorant one time. I remember the time he accidentally ate a 3 xanax right before the show thinkinh they were mints. Plus other tips like how to not smell like dirty balls after 4 days of camping. I'll answer that one now. U can't. My book is full of great stuff. Just finding the proper ghost writer.
  20. This was to me the 2nd best weather of all the jubilees. My weather rank of the jubilees. 1. 2015 was as perfect as weather could be. 75 highs and Low 50s as the lows. Perfect for camping. 2. 2017. A tad warm at night trying to sleep. The rain didn't make much of a negative impact as I got in the car during the downfall post show and jammed tunes. Overall as good as you can really ask for. 3. 2014. Finally we had good weather. After the previous year, I think I was overprepared bringing thermals, coat, sock hat, gloves. You didn't have to go into hibernation post show like the previous 2 years. 4. 2012. Besides rain as soon as the bands ended and DSO night 3 cut short it was awesome. Note I had a huge tent and could hang out in it. Plus it made me get sleep with nothing else to do. And it felt like our own private fest with the couple hundred who showed up at the stage. Unfortunately I didn't know the people I know now or half of the people at the stage for DSO would have been friends. 5. 2016. It was just way too hot. Several at our camp were so fatigued from the heat packing in it made it rough. Plus it had been so cold all spring this was a jolt to the system. At night it was just too hot to sleep. 6. 2013. The ice bowl. Once you got cold you stayed cold. People weren't prepared. Was the 2nd straight year of no activity after the music ended. I was so cold I couldn't dance as that would create wind chill on me. I huddled up and did a shiver dance. Definitely the most subdued I've seen jubilee dancing. PG and I have done good. Brought our significants into the music fold and are now to the point that they can let loose with abandon I remember both early on. Little dancing. Not sure if this was their scene. Now we can't hold them back and they are the ones suggesting excursions. I think I've brought around 12 people to their 1st DSO show and those have cumulatively seen around 150 shows to this point. I need to recruit an MC type to shoot up my numbers on this pyramid scheme.
  21. I watched the stream for it. Looked cold but not jubilee 2 cold.
