  1. 20/10/02 InDead Nation, Rec Room, Towson, MD Shakedown, They Love Each Other, Dire Wolf, Candyman, All Over Now, Big Railroad Blues>Train to Cry, Touch, Terrapin Station. China>Rider, Cassidy, Crazy Fingers>Uncle John's Band, Casey Jones, Lovelight, Standing on the Moon, Not Fade, Brokedown Palace. Bid You Goodnight. First Friday of the Month at the Rec Room for the first time since March. Took some time to settle in, but liftoff achieved around the Candyman. The Big RR again a highlight, the final jam reaching out to some new ground. Touch appropriate, and the Cassidy, Crazy>Uncle John a solid segment of the second. Great to have some family at these to run with, we dominated a corner of the bar and had great sound. Hooray for live music. Praise DSO.
  2. Tuesday night Basement Dance Party #4 delivered an experience complete with the full range of human emotion and Grateful Dead vintages. To keep things 2020, the band blew a fuse during the first set, temporarily slowing the journey to the other side. The group persevered to achieve bliss somewhere in the primal second set. The third included an early Fire and Terrapin and the 18 minute space from 94/10/01 took all on a journey through the multiple time space wormholes. The dance lab has been the secure, underground operations center to escape the ills of the surface in 2020. Set One 80/28/11 Lakeland Civic Center Arena, Lakeland, FL Jack Straw, Peggy-O, Rooster, Tennessee Jed, Passenger, Deep (Blown Fuse) Elem Blues, Looks Like Rain, Deal. Set Two 68/10/20 Greek Theater, Berkeley, CA School Girl, Lovelight, Dark Star>St. Stephen>The Eleven, Caution>Feedback. 7. Might be a few weeks as schedules need to sync up. Sounds like Hyryder filled the need. InDead Nation was fabulous here on Friday. Praise DSO.
  8. Hyryder weekend reports? Mr. Rude? AC? Praise DSO.
  9. Jackie Blue by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. I heard this on the classic channel coming home from Local Dead on Friday, with my ears still "open" and was dancing behind the wheel. Praise DSO.
  10. Great stuff, Hardpan. That is a report. Praise DSO.
  11. Just got home from local Dead. Great Time. Eagerly awaiting reports. Praise DSO.
  12. In an ever evolving series, Basement Dance Party 3 pushed the limits of human endurance, fanning out to a broader range of Grateful Dead textures. The whole night brought high quality work by the band, and the ride home from DeKalb was absurd. I would love to have you all here for one of these, they have been fun. Music ended around 2:00, with full post show silliness and Australian Rules Football. Set One 90/03/25 Albany Greatest Story, Touch, Wang Dang, Never Trust a Women, Jack-A-Roe, Masterpiece, Bird Song, Let It Grow. Set Two 74/05/19 Portland 1/2 Step, Big RR Blues, Black Throated, Scarlet Begonias, BIODTL, Tenn.Jed, Bobby McGee, Sugaree, Jack Straw, Must Have Been the Roses, El Paso, Loose Lucy, Money Money, China>Rider. E: One More Saturday Nite. Praise DSO.
  13. Last evening Basement Dance Party 2 surprisingly exceeded expectations, burning many calories in the process. A full serving of treats set the mindstage for the genius of the Big Man, he delivered in spades. The show had a nice long set break to refresh, and the energy in the room propelled the party to add on two unscheduled sets of acoustic Jerry. Hoe Down grande. Set One 83/10/21 Centrum Music, Loser, CC Rider, Cumberland Blues, Cassidy, Ramble on Rose, Brother Esau, BIG RR, Promised Land. Set Two 81/05/16 Cornell Shakedown>Bertha, Lost Sailor>Saint>D> Set Two 85/06/24 RiverBend S>Comes a Time>Other One>Cryptical>Wharf Rat> Round and Round, Good Lovin'. E: US Blues. 17. 91/08/14 Cal Expo Amphitheatre Sacramento, CA Touch of Grey, Rooster, Loser, Black Throated Wind, Row Jimmy, Cassidy>Don't Ease. Cold Rain and Snow, Box of Rain,Looks Like Rain> Crazy Fingers>Estimated Prophet>Supplication Jam> Uncle John's Band>D>S>Other One>Wharf Rat> Round and Round. Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Second set looks other worldly. Perhaps JohnA can impart some first hand knowledge. Praise DSO.
  18. The second set night one was a monster. I was on the outside looking in night two, missing the Playin'>Rider, damnit. Praise DSO.
  19. 20/08/01 In DeadNation The Still, Timonium, MD Touch of Grey, Ramble On Rose, Rooster, Althea, Train To Cry, MAMU, Big River, Bird Song, Brown Eyed Women, So Many Roads. China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider, Crazy Fingers, Box of Rain>Other One> Jam>Morning Dew. Fantastic to get some live Dead music for the Big Man's Birthday. Band really hit their stride from the Althea on in the first, the Bird Song a spinning dreamscape , and a credible job done on the SMR. China>Rider mashed and things were rolling along nicely until I felt a few raindrops at the end of the Other One. A bumpy landing ensued, with a ragged Dew ending the night as the rain drops picked up. Damn 2020. Great to see familiar faces, feel family, dance. I believe Jerry would be proud. Praise DSO.
  20. You got some 'xplain' to do. Praise DSO.
  21. Drums from Riverbend. Space (which was amazing) from Centrum. Praise DSO.
  22. Friday night I held the first basement dance party at my house with a friend, appropriate medicines and frozen adult beverages. Plenty of Julie Andrews space during the show and no drive home afterwards. Great fun. First set: 81/05/16 Barton Hall, Ithaca, NY. 2nd set pre drums: 85/06/24 Riverbend Music Center, Cincy, OH 2nd set post drums: 83/10/21 Centrum, Worcester, MA Praise DSO.
  23. Grateful Dead on a tennis court, seriously. Fantastic showbook entry there. I love this. Praise DSO.
  24. 22 men in close sparring does not seem very COVID friendly, the American public will really lose their minds without football. Money will make you do crazy things. Praise DSO.
  25. 92/06/20 RFK Stadium, Washington, DC Cold Rain, Wang Dang Doodle, FOTD, Mexicali>Maggie's Farm, Row Jimmy, Picasso Moon, Tennessee Jed, Promised Land. Corinna>Crazy Fingers>Playin' In the Band>Uncle John's> D>S>Casey Jones>Throwin' Stones>One More Saturday Nite*. E: Baba O'Riley*>Tomorrow Never Knows* with Bruce on accordion Steve Miller opened * with Steve Miller last Casey Jones 84/11/02 [549] Evidence that even in the latter years a monster show could still be had, the boys spin this story at the nation's capital. Always believed out of space the best set list location for a break out, with the locomotive airhorn signalling the Casey. We had a large group on the field and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Praise DSO.
