At this point GSET wasn’t finished right. At one point I went and listened to the 1st 10 or so GSET and they were still constructing the song. I don’t think it had the hook yet.

We’ve gotten down every time your wife has performed. How could we stand still during Jerry Band. I always enjoyed the very Garcia band. I don’t want a full out skull and roses, but 3 other dead bands seems about perfect. We are all at least master level dead historians but I doubt many could name a song on the billboard top 50 right now. Yeah everyone knows WAP. It’s a great song but that was a few years ago and if you had teenage daughters that was probably an uncomfortable song to see them do on Tictok. In the name of decency I’ll leave it at WAP.
in good news there isn’t a chance of rain for the next 10 days. Anything but rain is tolerable when camping.

It absolutely looks like perfection bro. 80/55 is perfect. 68 showtime and 60 at end. No chance of rain all week so will be dry ground. Pumped!!! A buddy of mine had some comment about the lineup. I said what do you mean. Dso is playing 3 nights. Oh you mean the bands we go check out for an hour or 2 a day while taking a stroll. Lineup. Gotcha.
the temps are going up and it’s pretty clear industrialization is causing it, but no one I know is willing to completely change their lives for it. So you are like omg global warming but drive an SUV to work solo every day. I care but nothing I can do. I ain’t stopping travel. I like my house cool in the summer. It’s happening and humans will need to relocate some. But stopping it means changes no one would be onboard with.

you know the Norva gets the goods. The salt of the earth gang got the only 1968 show there years ago. We cut such a rug we had to strip down post show to get the wet clothes off us. This would have been crazy fun too

The good news is the forecast has revised downwards. I remember year 2 was predicting like low 45 or so and a few days later it was 32 and tents had frost. I’ll take heat all day over that jubilee. That sucked. No one even bothered with camp fires it was so cold. Jump in your sleeping bag and shiver lol.

ADA is the shit. The thing I learned is they weren’t allowed to ask why you wanted in ADA. They could only say “this is the ADA section”. At that buckhead theater it was a massive flat area next to SBD in an otherwise sloping venue. I had my boot dance in full effect. That was the only really good ada on the tour. The others were so bad that we GA’d it. I also used the ada at a Deadco show in this sloped area. I asked the lady if this was ada, flat rectangle at the front of the mid pavilion. She said yea. I said thanks and walked in. Slopes suck. Not too proud to take a flat area plus my left foot hurts while dancing on a slope for hours. If others needed it more than me, I’d have moved along but most of the time they are empty.

The forecast temp keeps going up. Set up day on Friday can be rough in the heat, but after that it’s gravy. We mostly just go naked with no sunscreen like they did in Venetta in 72.

Last year Chuck the vip car camp area had 12” deep tire marks from cars coming in. A few got stuck near us. We put down a tarp to walk on as your shoes would get stuck in the mud and come off your feet. It was pretty brutal. No grass of course or there would be roots. We were joking that you could tell vip people because they had mud up their legs and GA peeps where no cars destroyed it were pristine. We went barefoot to set up camp as it would ruin your shoes.

We need to pray for no more rain at least for next weekend. Legend valley has 3 straight fest weekends of fests which destroyed the vip camping area. This weekend they are getting wet. Just need it to stay dry for the grass to grow. Cars driving is the culprit as the bowl camping was dry and mud free.

AC I think the SBD that bootleg Craig does is all you get. It seemed like a bad chord output that would pop and get better then slowly over 20 secs get worse again. It was either the output Jack in the SBD or the chord.

Hyryder def goes deep but evidently they became friends with Bill and he wrote that set 1. Unfortunately their SBD broadcast had technical glitches so the sound was a bit messed up. I love that they do every show with a FB stream with SBD audio. It’s just a friend who does it on his own for peeps at home and you can see ammagalim crew dancing last weekend. Teas always watching but hasn’t hit them live yet. We got PG to go during covid for a fun weekend.

i think the fans are all in the seats or dancing in the concourse behind it. When they played that Charlotte stadium, they had a little bit of area on the field ropes off to dance but it was too packed but pretty sure you can’t in Rochester
this needs to be clarified. Usually with 2 shows it says 2 nights. It also mentions just recreating 1 show.
I actually do see it on the FB message that it’s 2 days now.-

The Watkins glen poster shows dso recreating the 50th anniversary show. It doesn’t say 2 nights. They should probably make that clear. It’s showed 3 total bands but didn’t mention dso playing 2x

Must be nice to be able to fly 4 peeps for a 1 off show across country to Watkins glen. Unfortunately I won’t drop 5k on a weekend. As I said she has 3 weeks off a year. She was denied 6/16 off with us taking off 6/23-26 then 7/1-7/9. We do 1 day off for 2 shows. Indy is 2 days off for 1 show. If we’d known dso was playing Asheville earlier we wouldn’t have booked panic redrocks 3 shows. Unfortunately we aren’t in your situation where we fly across country every weekend to see shows. Our child isn’t ready for shows. He’d torture us. 2 hours in a car and he tortures us so we won’t torture him for our pleasure. I love dso but I won’t spend 3k on last second RT flight to Jackson hole. Plus we already booked flights ti the beach. I get that you just do dso and now do every weekend but my whole family is at the beach so that’s where we are going. My single life revolved around dso but priorities are way way way different now. I was just hoping for a couple shows close that we could maybe not have to use days off on. Unfortunately not everyone with kids can see 40 shows a year. You home schooling?

Deadco tonight at cornel. 46 anniversary of 5/8/77. There’s a $15 livestream that may be better than the original show!! Check their FB b/c I’m sure lots may go there with the comments. Unfortunately I won’t be getting the stream. Hard pass.

It’s outdoor with a flat dance area. That’s all you need!! I’d love to do this weekend but she got freaking denied on her PTO request. Denied… Its gonna require an eventual talk with the boss saying this is how we deal with life stressors. Shows. If we get denied then it may not be the right job. On that note that would have been the 1st of 4 straight weekends out of town so we didn’t throw down the gauntlet -
We will definitely come see you guys one day while in Colorado. We got a really close Airbnb so we can do as much as we can while we have freedom. I’d guess that most shows(the Wyoming excluded), Dso gets paid on a percent of ticket sales. The money is in the northeast for sure and it’s a different post covid environment. That’s also why we can’t rely on DSO tours. They do what they have to do and we will also. It’s just too expensive and too much hassle for us to do New York shows. We are doing panic b/c Nashville to Denver is cheap and it’s a direct flight. We waited as long as we could to plan summer days off. She’s at a hospital now and things are different. In summer the parentals also travel so the 2 babysitting options are limited June and July. We had a blast at panic New Years in Nashville. Free place to stay and 2 hours away so that was an easy decision so we wanted to take that ride again. And we are at the beach 7/1-7/9. My whole family is there. Personally I’d love to do the whole 3 weeks at the beach but she’s gotta work.

we used to base all our plans around DSo, but they aren’t playing our area like they used to and we aren’t getting the notice we used to get. Dso has played like 5 shows within 7 hours of us in the last year. We caught pretty much all of those, but the days of 15-20 shows within 7 hours are over it seems. They haven’t played Indy since 2019. There have been 3 cincy shows and 1 St. Louis show in 4 years. Am I supposed to just sit and wait and hope I get a show MC?? If they don’t come then I do nothing? Having a baby means we have to plan ahead for babysitters. If I see something non dso that’s fun, I book it. It’s May and a July run was just announced. Do you see how many peeps on here want to go to Wyoming and they can’t b/c it was too last second and they have other plans already. This is a real issue that the band needs to address as it’s affecting their pocketbooks. I’d guess with 6-7 months notice; at least 30 peeps just on the board would be going. That money loss adds up and DSO is a business and whoever is doing their booking needs to step their game up b/c it’s costing them money! -

Maybe the biggest issue is Deadco is playing the gorge this weekend. Many out west planned that trip a long while ago. I hope dso sells a bunch of tix but on FB you see a lot wishing they could do this but already have a big group heading to the gorge.
