    Praise DSO.

if you don’t have a QB you are in trouble. Bama benched their QB1 for a much much worse dude. They gotta figure it out. Too many good teams in the sec west that can beat you if you aren’t playing well.

  2. I like living in a smaller city. Luckily we are the economic hub of the area with 2 full service hospitals that serve the 250k people in surrounding counties which brings lots of professionals here. We also have the western district of KY federal courthouse that brings more than our share of lawyers here. The surrounding counties are white supremacist strongholds but we are the little blue blip in a sea of red.  It’s a cute little town. My mortgage is eye poppingly low. Everything I need besides shows, which many of us have to travel for besides the 5 a year some get locally, I have. I do lack live music on weekends if we did anything at night anymore.

  3. I was referring to FB peeps who demand the band play within 5 miles and don’t think a 1 hour drive is local. Unfortunately with a 2.75yr old, getting on planes are few and far between. But I will be doing 4-5 fall tour shows. Birmingham>Atlanta>Chattanooga then St. Louis and maybe chicago after.
Our small local airport no longer has the 7am flight to chicago that lets us end up anywhere and now only flies to Charlotte. The other option is the 2 hour drive to Nashville which is no biggie if a direct flight. Last year for New Years dso we tried to find a flight that could get us to Albany leaving same day but the best we could find was 1 connection getting us there a few mins before show time. In the old days Philly was great b/c southwest flies there direct and cheap but having to add a travel day makes it too rough on the grandparents. Little boss is a handful.

  4. I haven’t been on FB for prob 8 years but it’s always funny to read the Tour comments. One that recently made me giggle was someone said “Columbus finally!!!”  I guess Thornville is too long a haul. The northeasters are the greediest. If you don’t have the northeast on every tour those peeps are pissed. But I did learn that New York is way too far for someone from New England to travel b/c of all the hate if there isn’t a show in New Hampshire or Boston.

Welp - Aaron Roger’s NY Jets career (possibly football career) is over after 4 snaps with a torn Achilles - at age 39.  What a disaster and how so very ‘Jets’ that it happened this way.

Zach Wilson is not the answer - gotta try to trade for a backup (Jacoby Brisset, Teddy’s Bridgewater, maybe Jamis Winston?).  Teams know they’re desperate but maybe they can get a better QB option for the (2) 4th round picks the Jets have.

jets went all in with a 2yr window before cap hell and cuts come their way just like they hit the Rams. Unfortunately my cowboys won’t go all in b/c Jerry wants at least above average teams annually without making the serious SB push by trading for 1-2 difference makers. He covets draft picks more than anything and he hopes against hope that no injuries will derail a paper thin O line like last year. He plays the long game hoping the draft picks will be ready to play in 1-2yrs vs trading for a stud. The last time we traded high we got Amati cooper and the season turned around. This year we are already counting on UDFA rookies to play O line as the last week of practice took out a starter and the backups are all horrendous

With the new transfer portal crap, who knows if that class is intact when it matters. Freshman aren't going to win championships. I'm sure Bama will be okay but it's like what happen to Sunday Tiger in golf. There was a time if Tiger had the lead entering Sunday it was over. He knew it. We knew it but most importantly, the other golfers knew it. The were so engulfed with the mystique of Tiger they forgot to compete. Bama used to win their games before they started. We was afraid of big bad Bama. Now that's Georgia. We not scared of Bama anymore. If we a top 40 team, we now believe that if we execute and play our game we can beat Bama. They now have to win games on Saturday. They gonna have at least 2/3 losses this year. SEC ain't no joke.

thats all true. But are you just referring to national championships? What bama did for so long won’t be matched. They are still a perennial top 5 program. Players win championships and they will continue to get them. Playing other top 10 teams and expecting to win all isn’t realistic and next year comes Texas and Oklahoma.

  7. Bama and Ohio state will have serious growing pains without their 1st and 2nd draft picks at QB but luckily Ohio state avoided the pitfall of playing a legit opponent

    Bama just isn't Bama anymore.

well bama had their best recruiting class in history with 9 5-star recruits which is over 4 times more than the entire Big 10 recruited combined. They do lack an elite QB, but with that mega recruiting class, they will definitely stay upper echelon

Long-Time listener, 1st time caller, love the show.

Week 1 in the books!  Dallas, San Francisco have statement wins, rookie QB’s take their lumps, 10 road teams win, and WTF happened to the Bengals?!

Happy to have the NFL back!

i was so pumped when New England came back until I saw the replay and was like omg he’s OB. That would have been a great start since the nfc east will be a battle at the top

  9. AC, it’s pretty easy to turn any car into a camper by removing one of the back seats and having your feet go into the trunk. Bill K did this. We also met a couple who turned their Prius into a camper for 2 by removing the back seats and building a structure with plywood on top that made a nice flat sleeping surface with storage underneath for their gear. They made it work with a tiny Prius and 2 peeps and they loved it. They said they crashed at truck stops and Walmarts.

  10. I got to see him once in Cincinnati in the early 2000’s. We were talking a lot going to cincy last summer to see him as that’s the Mecca for him. Unfortunately we didn’t. A few months ago driving home from some show I put on songs you know by heart and I still know everyone by heart. I can sing pencil thin mustache without missing a word with the music playing. I can’t sing anything without musical prompts though.

  11. I wonder if I’d actually attend a show in this 115 heat index heat If it was in chicago today. I think I’d probably pass. Playing outside with little man right now for 10 minutes has me soaked and I’m barely moving. Guess you’d need a bunch of paramedics on standby and some post NFL game ice baths. That could be VIP. Tubs filled with ice included in your ticket. Heat domes suck a dick!!!

  12. Fyre festival early bird tickets for an undisclosed date at an undisclosed location for late 2024, sold out. Hope everyone got their tix. Should be epic. They only sold 100 so this was obviously to get free media publicity, but it also shows there are at least 100 fools out there who buy tix from a previous scammer without knowing when and where a festival will be or who will even be there….A sucker is born every minute

  13. Got to catch Saturday of Hyryders lazy summer home fest. Was such a cute campground and a really nice setup. Also got to hang with a long lost doctor and my favorite newly married Irishman who I was surprised to see. They did 3 1:15 sets then a 1:30 final set. 5:15 of actual music left my calves screaming but I forged through full speed. It’s a different feel than a jubilee as it’s mostly locals and has a local feel vs jubilee with people from all over. It’s a bit more party party of a scene too with every other camp selling nitrous. Tanks 30 feet from the stage lol. There were more messed up peeps than you usually see likely b/c those peeps don’t hit the road for travel and stay close to home for various reasons. Definitely more of a blue collar feel. But Indy peeps have a solid local band with around 40 shows a year so they are very fortunate and they show their love for their band and their followers are committed. Post show having some drinks and someone with a big PA puts on a Deadco show and in my relaxed bliss with a glass of whiskey, I hear John mayer singing in my ear. Luckily several others agreed and we got them to switch to real dead. I’m like Jerry band, dead, Hyryder, dso, JRAD are all acceptable choices. Deadco isn’t lol.

I still love so the Let Me Roll It we heard in Charleston that tour!  And still hate I miss the Moonlight Mile in Birmingham.

that moonlight mile was a pretty epic and a 1st time played. I was in a walking boot for that run but we were grinning ear to ear the whole time. It’s always fun when you decide to add unplanned shows on a tour and we added that Augusta show in the hood at the end. My fav picture is meili next to a burned down car outside that venue. They brought a security outside to make sure cars weren’t broken into and highly recommended we paid $10 to park inside their barbed wire fence. A block away from the venue people were staring us down. It made the electric factory feel like a nice gated community.

  16. If Meilis boss tries to fuck us and make us miss the start of the Birmingham show not letting her off at 1 that day, we may just quit that job and go wild on fall tour. Mom can you babysit for a week. Then a few weeks later for another week? K thanks. Appleton> chicago looks cool besides 2 days off in Iowa of all boring places for a day off. But I’d guess there will be room to boogie!

  17. Sweet. Jerry band shows are great. I think me Gr8tfulpair and Doc were the only ones who got that Jerry band run in like 2018 down south when Eaton missed around 5 shows. Those were some epic 3 set shows. Those set 3’s were unlike anything dso had ever done bringing out a percussion kit and playing completely different than they had ever done.

glad a bunch of you got the goods!!

  18. I’m getting excited for this. It’s been a while since I drove to 3 cities in 3 days. Since covid this is the 1st time the south has gotten an actual run in 4+ years!!! Meilis salivating about it as well. We are gonna do this without any PTO meaning driving home post show from Chattanooga. Post show driving also brings back great memories. There were tours we always hit the next town after the show. Some times there was no choice b/c you don’t day drive sandiego to LA or we had a spot to sleep in the next town. Covid turned so much stuff upside down and getting a little taste of being on actual tour is exciting!!!

  19. The problem is too many are leaving before set 2 ends so they create enough of a jam to keep you stuck. We were in shorelines lot in 2018 and No car was moving an inch so we just got out and chilled for an hour until the traffic was gone. It’s too hard to beat the rush unless you leave at DS

If it's the same guy that ran the ledges back in the day, ranting is kind of his thing. One year he went on and on about how his wife and her boy friend were living in his house.

the rant starts at the beginning. You could sorta tell Hyryder was a bit uncomfortable.

Being 2nd billled got them a whopping 1:20 of play time. That would have been disappointing

It cooked -!  One setters are a different animal and often come with a higher degree of difficulty.  Wish we got a SBD patch but got a jolt anyway.  NLQP❤️

Did you hear that rant from the promoter ragging DSO’s manager while Hyryder was getting ready to play. Seemed tacky. You shouldn’t be ranting about that anyway in public but it’s rude to be like we wish DSO was headlining the fest but their manager wasn’t content, while Hyryder was up there. It’s like someone saying we wish Deadco was here but you have to settle for dso.
