They played it a few times this fall, their first was at night three of the Capitol Theater run where they filled in for Phil.

Second set looks like fun, 🤤🤤 hope you all get some smokers this run ⚡️⚡️
  3. I think the Grateful Dead Movie really does a great job of conveying many of the facets of the Grateful Dead concert experience, which was Jerry's goal with it. From the deadheads of all shapes and sizes, to the exasperated cop dealing with the "getting my space together" guy, to the shamelessly ogling food vendor, to the crew setting up the equipment, to the guys sweeping up at the end. The last time I watched the movie, however, was the first time I noticed that Jerry could have been also trying to convey what it is like to be a member of the band. There is a point where the footage cuts to Phil, soaked with sweat, locked deep in the throes of a hot Playin' jam, with the band working their way toward the reprise. The angle is sort of from behind the neck of his bass, which first gave me this idea that, maybe this is kind of how it would feel on stage. As they get to the repeating figure, which precedes the reprise, the footage cuts to Jerry, playing that repeating figure over and over, bringing the volume lower and lower, with him mouthing "shhh" to the band, masterfully bringing the dynamics down to a pin drop, and upon reaching the "turn around", bringing them back up, to full volume at the point of release, when the band slams back into the reprise. I think Jerry was trying to let us know how it feels from the stage. Just something I noticed on my last viewing of the Movie, check it out next time you watch it 😃
  4. Hey, I know who asked that question! Rob's answer, eloquent and thought provoking. It is interesting to me, from what I gather from his answer, that to him, playing music with the band feels similar to how it feels to me on the dance floor, when it's really good and you are surrounded by other enthusiastic dancers, friends or strangers. The element of grace feels tangible and accessible ❤️

    Norva - 12/7/19

Oh man, this looks superb. I was watching out for Scarlet Fire from the beginning of the tour, in hopes of catching one, and when they kept on not playing it, I figured they must have been saving it up for something special. This looks like it fits the bill, happy for all in attendance 🤤

Looks like so much fun, was thinking about you guys busting it loose last night, loved that place last year, hope to return one day.
  7. Scramble on rose ⚡️⚡️
  8. He moved over a little bit and gave us some more space and seemed to loosen up. I saw him taking a photo of the chair stack which I guess he texted to the boss, then attempted to take apart the stack, me and Mason helped him out a bit on the tough parts 😛
  9. The masked marauder 👻
  10. Relentless dream setlist. Loved the first set Morning Dew palindrome, tough to select highlights, it was high energy all the way through. Someone cut loose a hearty Thanksgiving blast on the dance floor, I think it was one of the border dwellers 😱😱 Had fun dancing with everyone, nice space, great show, good company 😃

  13. It has worked out nice this fall, not too far of drives with good weekend clusters of shows, home each night 😃
  14. Mr. Eaton prefaced the show by mentioning he has had bronchitis for the past week, but that he plans on singing his ass off, which he did. Small, old theatre around 850 capacity built in 1885, not heavily sold, they allowed dancing in the aisles, which was well taken advantage of. The house achieved pin drop quiet during Morning Dew, was lovely all around, and Lisa delivered a powerful performance to close out the night with Strange Man, such a treat!!

  16. Thanks Mango, looking forward to the next time we can cut it up, working on my Rhino moves 😛
  17. I really like taping the band, but it is hard for me to fully let go and be free to dance when I have to think about keeping an eye on the equipment. I feel bad about not taping, especially since I have the gear, and many shows I attend have no other tapers, but since discovering how much fun letting go in an oasis of freedom can be, I don't think about taping as much 😃 as sudds94 mentioned, Rob did indeed belt it out on I Know You Rider, I hope he feels better soon.
  18. What a great show, high energy with lots of space and dancers, very fun night!! Second set sequence was killer, Pocky in between China and Rider was a good surprise. Lisa got a very enthusiastic ovation, lasting probably 30 seconds, after singing Sunrise, with Skip and Eaton urging the crowd to applaud more. The jam out of Terrapin was extended and beautiful, and the remainder of the show after drums and space was also very fun, with The Eleven being the highlight of the night for me, with swirling torrents of music for dancers to ride upon. ❤️ Loved the venue too, hopefully they return.

Packed house, carved out some dancing space where we could, and it was my little brother's first DSO show, he had fun 😃
  21. I hope so too, looks like a killer show. Maybe the band will consider releasing this one 🤤
  22. Me and my buddy Tim both taped the show there last fall, but neither of us made it up there this year. Just keep an eye out, if there was a taper there, we might get lucky and they will post it. Not every taper goes thru the extra hours of work it takes to transfer a recording to the Archive, I know several tapers who don't, so if you see a taper at a show, it can be a good idea to get contact info after thanking them and they might be more willing to make the show available to you 😃

    Philly

Love the barrage of 80s songs to start the night. Second set looks perfect. Our turn tonight, gonna be fun 🤤
  24. I'm not sure, but I'll be headed up with my brother and we're meeting up with a buddy of mine there from RI. Probably just going to be hanging around wherever we park and milling around before the show 😃
