TCU looking good to make it. It's definitely setting up for Tennessee to make it without winning their division. Buckeyes better get healthy before the game in two weeks.

Wasn't there the Help>Slip Music in 75 where they came to a halt looking for a doctor because someone was having a baby?

It's nice that there's an opportunity for some other teams to have a crack at the playoff. Clemson has had a spot every year since 2016 and Alabama has been in all of them except for 2020. TV executives want the usual suspects and would not be down for a slate like: Georgia, Michigan, TCU, Oregon
Clemson was out last year also. If I were to make a prediction about this year I'd say it will be Georgia, tOSU/ichigan, Tennessee and whoever comes out of the Pac 12 with only one loss. Definitely going to be someone new.

True as it may be, you do continue to tip your hand that the games don’t technically need be played, RD.you are consistent, though 🙂
while Clemson is not what they’ve been (and it will be fascinating to see what happens to them in the next few years), we’re not super confident that ND is going to get this job done, BS.and by not super confident I mean not at all
but I will certainly root them on 🥳

We did have two D linemen and a linebacker drafted but our depth wasn't good enough and they got worn down, that's why our only hope was to make them throw. They hung in for most of the game but we got behind which was a problem for the offense. I agree it's not likely that one of the small guys win the championship and it will become even less likely when they expand to 12 teams. I do also think that the teams that are dominant can change over time so I don't think it will be the same 5 teams over and over. I think Oklahoma's days are numbered. Look at Miami, they were nothing and then became great through the eighties and nineties and have now become nothing again. There is no guarantee that Alabama will remain at their level after Saban retires, if they lose their national appeal to recruits they are in trouble because there aren't enough in state unlike Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Florida, USC etc.

I would argue that my Bearcats had the talent last year with 9 players drafted, I think we got outcoached. We should have loaded the box and made them throw against our secondary which was arguably the best in the country. You don't beat Alabama by letting them control the ball and wear you down. Totally agree with Michigan St., that was the worst year for the playoff when the defending Champs and arguably the best team in the country got left out with 1 loss on a last second field goal in bad weather and didn't make the playoffs because they didn't win their division. That would never happen to Alabama and hasn't.

I think Notre Dame has a shot tomorrow night.

Not looking good for the Phils

SEC bias in full effect. Bama ahead of TCU???? Really???
When TN or GA loses this weekend, do we still end up with 2 SEC schools in top 4?
I am hoping for wins by LSU and Notre Dame tomorrow. Texas A&M is exhibit A that recruiting rankings aren't everything. I think NIL is having a negative effect on a lot of these top recruits, already paid with lost incentive

Great game last night, I'm sure there are a few Phillies fans on here losing their minds. I was initially thinking Houston in 6 but agree taking out Verlander in game 1 i think the Phils have a shot

Pretty solid wide ranging interview. Even my beloved Styx got a shout out! (Everybody needs some guilty pleasures)
Surprised there was no overt mention of Eaton, especially because there was banter about how folks JK was playing with had in some cases seen only a few Dead shows, and that JK has only gotten on the bus in '89. Then in comes Eaton, who was essentially royalty in the world of Grateful Dead scholars.
Or Scott Larned for that matter. I thought Scott was a driving force for getting DSO happening, but his name I don't believe so even spoken.
And speaking of the tradition to Eaton, I'd never seen video of Mike Maraat, and thereby didn't quite understand the degree to which Eaton took the band to a new level. Hell, that upgrade makes the Kevin to Skip transition seem like only a subtle bump. 😆
But I suppose the real point being made was that JK played with Phil and Bobby, and what that was like. And that conversation was quality. JK even claimed to have liked Jill Lesh! 😜
The revelation that his first shout out to the question about the "Grateful Dead peak" was '88 to '90 was hilarious - although he did then mention '73/'74 and '77/'78. I can see how Jeff coming on would have been a breathe of fresh air to the likes of Rob B. 😂
Hopefully he was referring to the 88-90 period because he saw shows at that time and wasn't old enough in the 70's. I saw shows from 85-95 and 88-90 would definitely be the peak for me for shows I saw. And you have to admit that John gave good Stella

No love for TCU? Big 12 is fun to watch, evenly matched teams could go either way every week. Looks like Kansas remembered who they are with basketball season getting started

As much as I hate to admit it, Michigan's ground game looks pretty strong. If I was to pick and outsider team to make the playoff, right now I'd pick Oregon. I could see them running the table the rest of the way and getting in

Things will pick up with fall tour, just haven't been any domestic shows for a while.

Tennessee gets it done. They for real. Bama not so much. Love watching Saban lose.
That was a great game, great games all around yesterday. TCU v OKST, USC V Utah, hell even Colorado won. Love college football

Seems like they could sneak in a stop in Indy and Ohio on the way from StL to Virginia. Would love to do the Vic, haven't been there since the 500th show many years ago

God save the King Encore? I don't have anything personally against the queen but as an American of Irish descent I'm not exactly a fan of the monarchy. Queen Elizabeth could have accomplished in Ireland what president Clinton did 20 years earlier and avoided a lot of bloodshed and bad feeling through the seventies and eighties.

Great win for your Wildcats. Love the App St. Win. Don't we have an alum on here? This looks like a season with a lot of twists and turns

Another season off to a great start. How about those games down in North Carolina? NC ST got extremely lucky, felt terrible for that ECU kicker and App St. v UNC was crazy! Georgia looks ready to roll again, very impressive. ND held up pretty well against the Buckeyes, I think Freeman will do just fine. My Bearcats lost a tough one at Arkansas but I thought they held up well on the road against a good SEC team, nothing to be ashamed of just need to clean up a few mistakes.

That's the one. I always wondered if they intended to continue into Franklin's but restarted with Music since they had lost their momentum
