  1. U northeast guys need to figure out listing setlists. 1st post should be the setlist then go from there. Just sayin. These setlist posts have been all over the place. I’m guessing Found used iPhone notes as his post came out the same font size mine did.

You can also just edit your 1st post to add the songs to the list if you wanna start it during the show. That would work just as well.

  2. Having a funny convo with friends I remembered this guy who got a boob job for a $100k bet. It was in 1996 and he won the bet and decided to keep the boobs another 20 years. Turns out he just decided to have them removed. Great funny article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3595290/These-100-000-boobs-Compulsive-male-gambler-got-BREAST-IMPLANTS-win-bet-friend-finally-asks-38C-cups-removed-20-YEARS.html

  3. I have passion to hang out with lots of tour friends without wanting to be romantic with them.  I dont have thoughts at all about being romantic with tea and gr8fulpair even though I have a passion to see shows with them.  Being with other like souls who leave it all out there is my passion.  Getting down with a great crowd is a passion.  Dancing outdoors is a passion.  (Who am I kidding.  Everyone wants to get in Tea's pants)

  4. We saw I assume Tonya doing the darkstar official Instagram live stream for start of 2nd set and was going to post the link here then it ended lol.  May I suggest an iPhone tripod to just set it to livestream so you don’t have to mess with it and can let it run ;) .  Couch tour in any form is fun.

Looked like a doozy of a setlist. That ended a very special tour with a bang!!!!

How was the Phil and Panic double header anyone?

I think this was a good decision!!

The gf tried to talk me into it after Savannah. I’m like we don’t have camping gear with us and I’m in a boot at a fest with lots of walking....

  6. So pulled out my deadbase to check years played. This definitely could have been a 73 show.

    1.  Here comes sunshine 31 times in 73. 1x in 74. Not again til the 90s

    2. You ain’t woman enough. Only 15x total and all in 73.

All other songs were played in 73 many times if not mostly in 73. I was looking for any chink in the armor of my 73 analysis at the show as it’s one of my fav years and Dso went full trickery Mode on this show. There was nothing out of place that could have given it away. I get tricked a lot but this was one that was sneaky.

  7. Question for you dead computers. I thought t for Texas started mid/late 78 so when I heard the Fire but no t for Texas minglewood I thought early 78, but read something that t for Texas wasn’t sung until August 79. I could swear it was 78 they started that verse.

This was also the 2nd 40yr show this tour even though off by a day and was told Wilmington was supposed to be another 40yr show(to do 3 straight 40yr shows) but the storm that luckily stalled flipped it to a 73 style original.

  8. This was a pre Tea for Texas but early enough in 78 for a Scarlett fire. Was a tad confusing whether it was a recreation or not.

The place got down. Was lots of room and when you give deadheads open carry booze and lots of space there’s gonna be a party. The gf helped carry an older lady out of the bar to her car who was wasted. If we didn’t need to head west, I feel like I should have gotten really drunk walking around all the squares with a bottle in my hand. Was a very drunk crowd but in a good way. It’s hard to explain. Was drunk Dancers not drunk talkers. The whole place just let loose. The percentage of Dancers who threw down completely was as high as I’ve ever seen it. It was Dso’s 1st show ever in Savannah and the people responded. Whoever was asking for a seedier area, this was easily the most shady I’ve ever been to a show in. They posted security across the street to watch a grass lot and the street where we parked. The gas station adjacent to the venue had burnt out cars that had been there for many years taking up a chunk of the lot. But...we hung out in this grass lot a few hours before the show in the most glorious weather ever. I was joking that the people slowly cruising by us inspecting us were like “this neighborhood is going to shit ;)”. Security kept an eye on us not for doing anything but to make sure we weren’t shot.  We were thinking The stage on Bay was going to have boats behind it in a fancy area. It was actually abbreviated from the long name of the Stage in Bay Street projects. All that silliness being said, it was a blast for all involved. No one was hassled. Security helped wasted people to cars. You get a vibe of every city you visit and this town had that vibe of every night 1 person in a group will have to be carried out of the bars and no one thinks twice about this. I wish I could have gotten drunk walking around but alas I kicked it past Atlanta to motivate home.

What a fun run. I’m filled with awesome vibes. My cup runneth over. See many of you at jubilee and a few of you sooner.

  10. After this show it made me question my comments earlier where I thought I personally liked JGB better. I think the rareness was what I really enjoyed hearing many tunes I’ve never seen live, and this show showed me I’m a true GDhead. I was in heaven, drenched with sweat, dancing with great friends to just an epic GD setlist. I’m like could you have crafted a better setlist? The only retort was the dead could have played something besides JBG as the encore lol. Besides that this show had monster dancers then a mind bender TOO. Back left was a mass of 40 people of all different ages dancing like 12yr olds who just guzzled 6 mountain dews. From 25-70, everyone was feeding off everyone else in a mass of energy. We joked how only deadheads could dance that wild and never bump into anyone else. Deadheads are the only people who sense people walking through the crowd and time their back off then come back as soon as they pass. I’m calling it dance premonition. When you don’t have this, it’s called a mosh pit. We definitely don’t dance any easier than moshers. We just move into open space and then back out as others weave towards us. It’s a symphony of sorts.

  11. They definitely fooled us on this show. Convinced was a 73 show. There are so many setlists out there and the HCS just locked me in and I was shocked when they said this was performed by the Grateful Dead never 😂.

Perfect day. Great vibes. Great crowd. Great friends. My parents 1st show. Got them 2 miracles instantly for the sold out show. Was fantastic. I’ll be coming back to this venue again. Perfect for a Sunday show in the swamp.

  12. They initially had the back 2 levels curtained off. We complained to security. They said this place holds 2k and only 1k tix sold already. We were like this is a dead crowd and we need every inch. 3 songs in they opened the rest up and it was great after that. It was getting shoulder to shoulder with more piling in. It could have been a disaster but finally they gave in. Considering if you step on their taped lines you get 3 security flashing you, not sure we could have all actually fit in their pen.

this is is a junkie setlist?  Wtf. This is an awesome setlist. Simple twist, waiting on a miracle?  Wtf wtf. This may be the wrong band if this setlist is only for junkies. This shit pisses me off. If I ever thought Dso just phoned it in, I just wouldn’t say a word. I wouldn’t disparage them publicly. That being said I think they give it every night. These guys hustle and give us long well played shows and to make these comments baffles me. The world may not be what you want it to be now but don’t take it out on the band or the music.

  16. Calling tunes we love “junkie” tunes is so fucked up. It’s not subjective. They aren’t junkie tunes. That may be an opinion of non dead heads but for someone who proclaims themself to be a deadhead saying the 20 song setlist was junkie tunes or only a junkie could enjoy them is nonsense. Why say anything if u have to say something that negative. It blows my mind.

What songs were new to the band?

Not new to them but new playing them. I made the comment after the bham show even though was in this thread. I want to tell u was only played 1x in 2001. I got like 7-8 1st timers or more in 3 nights and the band played a few for pretty much the 1st time. And they played songs differently like the walking blues and having the percussionist in the set 3’s created a unique sound different than you normally get.

Fantastic audience. Sounds more like a matrix. Outdoor audiences can be so crystal clear and this is one of those. Give the moonlight mile and I’ll be with thee a listen for sure as well as all the other rarities played.

The only strange thjng avout this show was was when we got the night they drove old Dixie down in Atlanta the whole crowd dropped everything and went crazy and sang it. In Birmingham they refused to take a rebel stand. I told Gr8tfulpair this place is about to go nuts and it was weird.

  19. I think I realize I like Jerry band more than dead. Weird huh. My personal highlight was ride mighty high. I’m not a religious guy but Jerry band gospel lights my soul. Being patient for a Gomorrah as that would give me pretty much every Jerry band gospel song I need to hear on this run. This Asheville night was mostly a Grateful Dead show. 2 drummers and played more aggressively than previous nights. There’s just this comforting aspect to the Jerry band songs and shows. You will get some psychedelia or a lot like the 2nd set of Birmingham, but they clearly steer for a different guitar sound and output than when doing it dead style. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is but Gr8tfulpair said mattsons guitar, like Jerry when doing jgb, has a different sound than when doing dead. Jerry band eases my soul while dead challenges my senses and maybe soul easing is what I need right now.  Regardless we’ve gotten night after night of rarities and I am googoogaga over songs I rarely Or never hear.

Thank you Dso!!  You guys are amazing

  21. This is the most negative thread I’ve ever seen for just a perfect weekend. Gr8tfulpair and I must be in a different dimension because we were Drooling over the ultra special shows we just got.  We commented how the band should have spread the word that this 3 show run would be one of the most unique dso Experiences ever. So many of these were 1st timers for us and the band. Plus the 3rd sets were amazing.  Back to back 6 show 3rd sets where the band did songs and styles never done.  I had so much fun there was no room for any thoughts of negativity. This is one of those wtf threads.
