  1. Juicy set list!  Lots of goodness. I don’t recall hearing Dso do an old style Minglewood in any show I’ve seen. How often did the dead do that before new was released. I’m thinking New Minglewood was 76 and new new Minglewood was 78 with the t for Texas.

  2. Good looking strange setlist. Those are the kinds I like. Wheel, JBG to start lol. The 1st 6 are about the strangest opening I’ve seen in a Dso setlist. They must have been been feeling sporty when they wrote that list.

  3. my crowdsourcing site is set up.

$250 donation- I will personally dance with you for 1 set(cannot request which set)

$500 gets you a pre show meet and greet(1 alcoholic beverage included up to $10) plus introducing you to friends and 1 set of dancing with me.

$1000 donation will get you a custom made t-shirt, $30 to spend at DSO merch plus all the benefits of the $500 package and the excitement of being able to live vicariously through me with daily tour updates(daily tour updates not included in any other packages).  (best value)

$50 donations will get you a personal thank you on forums

$10 will get you a pre-written thank you email

Once I hit my goal of $20,000, I will produce a small documentary slideshow of tour and putting music behind it that will be available to all who donated.

Looks like announced summer tour last year 3/15.

Was that part 1 or 2 as the BM shows are the 2nd leg. I’m guessing Midwest will get some late summer love too. And I always say the last year was my banner year never to be beaten, and every year since I 1st saw Dso, I’ve done more shows the following even though I don’t see how I can get to 40 this year....unless...

  5. He said break before redrocks-no connectors.  Deadco shoreline should fill the gap as I bet Dso finishes right before those shows, but a week in sanfran ain’t a cheap stint. Likely will stealth camp 100’ up a redwood in one of those suspended tents with a ladder hanging down to save on lodging. I’ve always been curious how I’d do selling merch in a lot. I was thinking officially licensed dancing bear rolling papers. One of my promotional suppliers sent me a special on some organic hemp custom full color papers with organic soy ink.  I actually thought that would be a solid Dso merch item as people always need papers to roll cigarettes.  Give me a holler Ellie for the link ;)

  6. Don’t we all. My need to plan is creating stress. I have a feeling I’m gonna be selling my deadco Midwest tix as I’m hoping Dso will be in a beautiful western area in late June. If they are doing west coast early summer then they won’t annouhce until they finish west coast winter.

  7. On Sirius, tigdh is always a different day than today. Not sure what’s up with that. Maybe tea needs a radio gig. Pretty sure it would pay at least 15k a year, ed and I’m sure u could do a better job.

This is the most important thing happening anywhere on the planet right now.

If there's a way into a desirable future from here, it will be found in that room.

These guys are the real deal - Tell your friends, bring them.

What a wonderful year it's been, and what an incredible run of shows to cap it all off - From here on I will never miss a DSO newyears.

    Love you all dearly.

    Praise DSO indeed.

Prerty sure you need to switch the word important for “fun”. It’s definiyely not the most important thing being done on the planet. It may be the most fun but there are many more important things than shows. Many go to shows to get away from the important things to get a break or escape from the world for a short time.

  9. I agree with MC. Environmental factors are huge. Crowd energy, speaker quality, room to move and friends all contribute to my intake of the music. Things sound better when you are really happy. I think most Dso shows are equally amazing. Rare shows and songs are always exciting. I don’t know if that ‘68 was any “better” than the following ‘91, but that rarity factor elevated that show in my mind. That ‘91 following was in the most epic music venue I’ve ever been in. Out of this world sound. Epic sound quality like with Betty boards elevates our feeling of the music. This year it became clear that ranking shows is futile. Everyone experiences the show differently and has different parts that meant a lot to them personally. Luckily Dso doesn’t really have off nights. An “off night” for me would be a set list I’m not as much a fan of or a place with bad sound or a show with zero room to move or lots of talkers.

Mango—it’s greaf that you think every show now becomes a best ever. That means you are happy and the goal of seeing music is happiness. If each show tops the previous it means you are of good mental health.

  10. Happy New Years. I’m psychically dancing with you all tonight. Wish I could see everyone’s smiling face as we ring in the new year. Love u guys.

Inspire everyone to get down tonight. Leave it all on the dance floor. This is for the championship. If you aren’t willing to give your all, we will pull you and put in someome wiyh no ticket who wants to hustle. You shouldn’t need any pep talk at this point. This is what you trained for all year. Lets go out and dance your dance and have fun and we will bring it home. You have at least a month of offseason to recover so play through the injuries. If you don’t give your all you will look back on this moment with regret. We only have 1 shot!! Lets dance this one for the gipper!!!

  11. We got the wiz wit on our only time there.

And if you are at a hotel, Uber it. It’s going to be cold as shit and parking will be the same as 2 Uber’s.  We caught a ride back my 1st show there with someone parked and The parking lots double as nitrous shops.  They offered drive thru service. Note never hand the driver a balloon and also note that a car can only hold so many balloons. Also if you see goingbacktowhere getting in an elevator, take the next one. Just trust me there. Security may say just get in the elevator, but don’t do it!!!

Hoping for no snow as I’m putting in the 10 plus hour trek to come up to philly for these. Any advice on philly would be awesome. Anything from which cheesesteak to try to electric factory security heads up to where to watch football Sunday. Also I think we are staying less than a half mile from shows. Is any part of Philly walkable or is that a dumb idea?  We are probably gonna do the Independence Hall your and liberty bell and shit Saturday. CANT FREAKIN WAIT!!!! My first DSO NYE.

Awesome!! This is your 1st New Years run isn’t it?  You should probably get a $6 Uber.  Bad area and will be freezing. Ask Gr8fulpair and tea about our 6 block walk in Asheville and you won’t ever contemplate walking in the cold again.

  13. Lol. I had no clue you were there. That place is so massive, forget about running into everyone you know. We had a hard time locating people in our group. No cell service in that venue took us back to an older time where you did this thing called searching. It’s whete you don’t have a phone and have to look for people. It was really strange. How did I not die with no phone in my youth.

Staff was super cool. I mean weed is legal in DC and staff could give 2 shits about people lighting up. I saw several light up during rainy day women, but I was thinking shows over guys lol. I think that song was chosen partly b/c politicians need to get stoned and weeds legal in DC.

  14. If they did 3 in a row at the anthem for New Years, that would be epic. We had a badass embassy suites a few miles away for cheap ;)  But think they would have to guarantee a sellout or close to be able to book New Years there. With 6k capacity, the anthem will want to max their revenues with a sellout when people are gorging on alcohol.

    Every night;-)

We got B2B lovelights this weekend. Pig then bobby style and both were amazing.

You guys just smoked us this weekend. So glad I came. Those were some special shows. Has to be the weekend of the year for seeing Dso shows. I mean was that not the best b2b shows maybe they’ve ever done. 68 then a monster in the best indoor music venue in the country. That place was the music equivalent of a new billion dollar football stadium.  If you got closer than 40-50ft from the stage your eardrums could hardly take it. It fucking boomed!!

  16. Oh 1 last funny thing. Rob B gets on the mic and says what about this great venue. He said Jeff said they should call it the 12:30 club lol.

That place in essence was a basketball arena with all the lower level seats removed for bigger floor space. You could prob put 2-3 basketball courts onto their bottom level.

To me one of the really cool things about DSO and maybe the reason they're not as mainstream a JRAD or dead co is nights like this.  There were maybe 20% of the people who got what was going on and this was def not a "crowd pleaser" kind of show, but I think  they played it cause they know many of us loyal fans are craving this early stuff, and also I bet it's fun as hell to play. This was the best of all the early music I've heard DSO do. Big boy Pete..... get the fuck outta here, that was some sweet shit!!! Oh I loved every minute of it.

After our great weekend I hate to disagree but I think it was more like 80% appreciated it. Prob 20% would have preferred this over a 77 but it seemed like most were getting down during it even if they had no clue what was going on.  Hell I think I asked friends 10x are we still in (insert love light, alligator, viola here).

Those jams blew my fuckin top off. 2nd set was 1 song to me-a continuously changing jam of strangeness with a few song words tossed in every once in a while between fast dancy strange jams.

Great to meet you too!  Felt like I’d known you for years.  Funny how that happens round these parts 😆

Wish I’d have met u bill. That place had so many people I was hard to find anyone. But when tea said he means u and u were a righteous solid guy then u earned my respect. After his comments I felt bad we didn’t get to meet. Tea doesn’t heap praise on many people in that way so I’m upset we didn’t hear to meet. Chris, Dr Barry and I waited by the soundboard after 1st set but you were lucky to even find your friends again in that huge place much less someone u haven’t met. Until next time. I assuming u will do jubilee. Def meet there.

That har to be my fav b2b shows. 1st 68 that’s was by far the biggest mind melter I’ve ever seen Dso do followed by a perfectly crafted rocker in the best open pit venue probably in the country.

Props to to the new light guy. Met him a few times but forgot his name but the new light system he has is the most amazing setup I’ve seen. Instead of 1 light on 2-4 poles, the system is this rotating bar of 6 lights with 2 on a rig. The light show is off the charts now. Talk about a psychedelic lighting system. And that’s a whole new system since the 1st halt of fall tour. I think this really elevates the overall show. During drums we were like holy shit he’s good plus all those new robotic lights sent us on a journey.

    Bravo guys!!!
