  1. Today
  2. High Time has appeared four times. A good alternative when my show attendance is down because of summer work schedule and saving for Europe. Spinning freely without risk of knocking someone's drink across the room a joy. Praise DSO.
  3. Seems like there were more than 22, maybe because the labs you put together are huge and encompass a lot of ground. High Time remains elusive 😗 I remember trying to get tickets for one of the COVID labs, great work, inspiring, hopefully trend setting. Getting your twirls and swirls in shape for Tom's birthday show?

E: Johnny B. Goode. While less frequent since COVID, these events still occur and this one really rang the bell. Final 10 song opening set, impressive work for 1994. Pristine recording second, full of vigor and Pig goodness. Back end of the third unplanned today in GD history, with a unique Samson and a never ending Eyes intro. Big Fun. Praise DSO.
  6. I did both also. Just weed for phish, dosed for 2/3 of D&C. Can confirm not needed but took it to another level for sure.
  7. I talked to two local boys who went, one caught Phish and a friend of a friend caught Dead and Company. They both said the same thing. It’s a sensory overload, almost over stimulation. Sober sounds like the way to go. Performance enhancing drugs aren’t necessarily necessary. You’ll get stimulated enough.
  8. I recommend it. I mean dead and co is what it is, but the sphere is the show and a mind blowing experience. Boys are going out that same weekend but I don’t think they’ll land in time for DSO. Dead visuals on that screen with that sound was craaaaaaaazy and I recommend catching it now because the Eagles have it next. 🤣
  9. Last week
  10. Pulled trigger and assembled all the pieces to see Vegas show. Next night do a Sphere Dead & Co. since I’m there. Will be farthest west I’ve seen a DSO show. WTF it’s Vegas baby!!!
  11. Marcus has got some serious backing behind him. Look at the huge band he travels with, horn section and all the trimmings. Dark Star is going to do what they do no matter where their place is in the line up They're Workingman's Dead and who could ask for anything more ⚡ shake , rattle and roll away the dew
  12. I hope DSO gets to play a full show here. Seeing them under Marcus King makes me cringe a little bit. Good for Marcus and all but DSO deserves to play after dark.
  13. I see 9/13 being in Richmond VA…
  14. Cool! Hope to see you there
  15. Damn, that's way north! I just added the Friday the 13th One Stop Asheville show to my Sat the 14th Emmylou Anderson Music Hall Haiwassee, Georgia show and would love to top it off with this Dark Star Orchestra Sunday show, but that 12 1/2 hours north of Murphy, NC isn't as enticing as the Fri Asheville. I guess that's why it's the Borderland Festival and not the Mtns of NC festival 🙃🛞🇱🇷⚡🎶
  16. The Borderland Music + Arts Festival Daily Lineup is here! borderlandfestival.com DSO is playing September 15 in East Aurora, NY at Knox Farm State Park. Single Day GA Tickets available tomorrow - Thursday, June 13 - at 9am EST on borderlandfestival.com

  19. I went to a James Taylor concert in Philly at the Mann in 1980. Debbie DelCollo and I are rushing into the show as we’re running late and about a dozen of our friends are already in the venue. Two guys are arguing in the parking lot, 30, no 35… I walk up to them and ask them what they’re arguing about. Guy says two tickets for the Grateful Dead Saturday night. I said , I’ll give you 35. ……that’s when it all began…..
  20. Mei went to St. Louis tonight to see James Taylor with her sister. Was at setlist.fm and luckily he does 2 sets plus a triple encore for a total of around 2:20 of music. on that note he played Red Rocks June 2nd and 3rd. Exact same setlist each night. That just seems weird. I’m sure many saw both nights but likely didn’t care I guess. Her friends at work are like 3 straight nights you see a band. Yeah. They don’t play repeats over 10 hours of music in 3 days she retorts but they are confused about people going to 1 show wanting to hear the hits.
  21. I think I got Dino talked into Fiji.
  22. Pretty heady lifestyle if you got the ways and means. Guess ya'll just have to wait for the Bora Bora announcement after JITS
  23. Original Recipe* Set 1: Jack Straw ; They Love Each Other ; Mister Charlie ; The Music Never Stopped ; Crazy Fingers > Corrina > Box Of Rain ; Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower > Feel Like A Stranger ; Terrapin Station > Playing In The Band > Don't Ease Me In *JK filled in for Jeff
  24. Jeff was quite the trooper with his injured knee leaving the stage after the second set and coming back on for the encore. And I have to comment on Rob's Blow Away, he did a precise replica of the Brent rave up towards the end with the counting of the fingers and then opening up to let your heart out, pretty damn close to what Brent delivered that night. Thank you for studying the show and the delivery, it made it an all the more joyous that first night at Jubilee for folks from the Cincinnati area. That was a standout show on that spring tour, especially that Fantasy which fell flat in Pittsburgh, the energy level was off the hook in Cincytown during the China Rider inside of Riverfront coliseum that Sat night compared to the mellow Sunday show in Louisville with it's somber Stella Blue. I had forgotten all about the Box of Rain encore adding even more jubilee to the 5/24/24 experiment ⚡. The third night Birdsong clip esp moving as the woman that jumped in my car at Alpine 87, who I took all the way (and scoring her tickets to each show along the way in the parking lots, I had mail ordered my Tix for the entire tour) to the two Roanoke before sending her home as I headed up to Philly solo, Gina unexpectedly passed away on 5/23/24 and the text sent out to me and all her friends had those same lyrics Jeff chose to sing for the partial Birdsong that found it's way into the Other One. I really couldn't believe the band played that since it's usually a first set song. But Gina Defazzio's spirit was noticably with us all at Jubilee this year. I got the text of her death as I was leaving Emmylou in Lexington on Thursday 5/23/24, getting ready to head to Buckeye Fri morning. Unexpected death as she was planning on hitting the June 1st Hyryder show with me. On 5/25/24 she also visited the sacred grounds of legend valley during the drums>space>tomorrow 🕳️🕳️🕳️🪶🪶🛞🕯️🕉️🎶🇱🇷🐉〽️
  25. Not seeing it on archives. My suggestion.... get to the next show you can as each one continues to be better than the last 🫠
  26. Sorry to necro this old thread, but I figured it was better than starting a new thread. Does anyone have a tape of this show or know when DSO might post the SBD? I've been checking Nugs monthly and they've posted a lot of older and newer shows, but this one is missing. There's one tape floating around on youtube, but the quality is poor. If anyone knows where I could watch the livestream or find an audio recording, it would make my day! I've really been itching to listen to this show again! Thanks
  27. A ray of light in the land of darkness. An insatiable appetite for joy for himself and more importantly, those around him. Solid gold…. RIP you big, goofy ol’ sonofagun!
  28. My wife and I did all 9 shows in 2022. We are so excited to go back to Europe to see DSO!
