Thx Tea,, Sounds like a sweet spot…wonder if this increases attendance numbers a bit and opportunity for those who haven’t been before to get in on it all at same resort location…and yet maintains the intimate vibe…
-
Sounds awesome,,love the lovebirds set list,, Congrats Rick, Whitney, and fam…sweet moment!

Haven’t seen yet but been hearing very positive reports. meanwhile I caught a couple more Garcia Project shows last week and I thoroughly dig how they tend to Jerry Band…seems like they’re getting better and better…my fav JGB band out there at this point.

They first played it in February in California… In honor of Garth Hudson Great tune to add into the mix 🤠

Reminder to make use of this amazing on line resource created and maintained by Count2 here on the forums: https://www.gratefulsets.net quick and easy for tons of stats and info 😉

And the filler actually started with Next Time You See Me for the quad pack filler… ’twas such a doozy… All I can say is what a gift it is to have the opportunity to visit the dreamy space where there is a fountain that was not made by the hands of men… May we all continue to be able to return there to fill our cups ♥️

Absolute barn burner roof blowout kinda show…kickass outta the gate and all the way through…game on…My oh my… Awesome to get Gr8fulpair and fam out in these parts for 2 in Seattle and meet his son catching his first DSO shows…he’ll clearly be heading to many more I think 🤠
-
Out of time, so no filler Thoroughly enjoyed the stream…looks like a sweet, intimate venue at under 500 capacity… Cant go wrong with a fall ‘73 show…🤠

Thanks for Chiming in Mik… Love what you guys have been up to and have caught a few of your shows in recent years and thoroughly enjoyed…looking forward to a few more up the NW next month! Thanks for getting out there and keeping that music rolling 🤩 -
I deduce that OtherOne is referring to Garcia Birthday Band from Portland…they just played at the Crystal Ballroom to honor the 2/2/68 and 2/3/68 Crystal Ballroom shows…I bet it was fun 😉

Yeah Tea, exactly. He started the set off with the acoustic for the Dupree’s and somewhere mid Mountains switched to electric as the jam drifted toward the Dark Star…. And there was Cosmic Charlie to open the encore filler before the Hard to Handle (not before Bid you Goodnight) That has absolutely got to be the best Monday night this here sack of bones has ever experienced…holy sheesh,,Ventura got the goods in a very cool small intimate venue (640 peeps) Full throttle all band craftsmanship leading the night through the most peculiar and wondrous caverns of outer space… Skip was absolutely on fire and exercising leadership throughout the night on so many of the jams…driving the train through such fantastic old school grease pits… Skip and Barracco were dialed in together tightly and carving all sorts of new ground together and clearly enjoying the hell out of it together…Those two held down and launched out a lot of the jams throughout the night and Barraco fully brought in the spirit of pigpen to the max…King Bee…ahhhhhhhh….Hey Jude…ahhhhhhh….lovelight…ahhhhhhh Note that this show was the first of just 2 times (both 69) that Pigpen sang Hey Jude…and didn’t show up again til late Brent era. extremely thankful that our timing included this show on a Monday night after the 2 rippin electives in Del Mar and LA…back outta the game now til Seattle/portland… Thanks for such a good time down here in SoCal!!!!

And back into Uncle John’s after Imagine/before world to Give… 🤠

Yes the opening duo thoroughly helped the night lift right off…love getting Let it Rock. The whole set had me hooked and the Gimme Some Lovin drop into All Over Now was brilliant followed by a thorough and raukus Tangled…ahhh Stranger ripped and Shining Star was just other worldly gorgeous beauty with Lisa belting it out along with Jeff…damn… then dropped into a super slinky slow take your time jam into Not Fade —quite 76 style leaking over from Phoenix show it felt like…perfection… It all rocked through set and New Speedway outta space ripped hard and then back into more beauty heart space with Two Souls…damn this show was just what the doctor ordered with plenty of complex playing and jamming to chomp on… First show since July Greek…think I can lose access a bit to just how good it can be until I’m back in front of it again…ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Back in to NFA after Throwing Stones… Wow….thoroughly loved this show all the way through… The room was not the same after Shining Star…wide open heartfelt beauty…
-
Fantastic 76er after the hiatus…love that show. This was the first Cosmic Charlie since 1/21/71 and just 5 more showed up ending with the one Tea mentioned… Those Cosmic Chucks and Mission in the Rains (just played 5 times with GD, all in 76) help make 76 unique Although this 6/4/76 show was only show which had both of those beauties in same show….😉 Glad you got a beauty DD!

Damn! Wish I’d been at that one!

And it Stoned Me done before? I can’t recall seeing it on setlists…? love the look of that elective 😀

Kinda feels Sunny round here…

Here’s to more 2-3 night runs in general out in the future 🍻!
-
Indeed… I'm still surprised by how few double headers (and triple headers, for that matter) show up in the different tours… multi-night runs seem so clearly advantageous for everyone involved on both sides of the rail, besides being a reflective methodology of the original Grateful Dead experience… meanwhile,,we’ll joyfully take whatever we can get,,even when it means scurrying to pack up and leave a room by noon or so and hit the road to get to the next show…! But yeah,,been quite a few years since a double doozy in Seattle..:they had locked into Portland for that going into Covid but each tour seems to toss out its own surprises…. nice carrot to have dangling out there going into the dark/wet season…🤠

Yipeee yiy yo!!

Hang in there PG!! Been sending you and all your neighbors of the entire area vibes… one step at a time to crawl out of the mess the storm left… 🤗💜💚💙

Would love to see them rip Woodstock! Another welcome non-GD tune to the mix…so fun!
