Just a long as the guy with the 'bandana" doesn't get a call from the CEO Jill , I am ok.......LOL....Dr. V

Dr.V, we've taken every precaution to keep the great bandana'd drummer from the clutches of the evil Furthur empire ... hired private security( Blackwater ) and hid him away , no cell phone contact and no pc for email , no access to cable or any outside television feeds , only videos for his entertainment and no porno either ... he will not be allowed back in public till first day of DSO tour sound check ... and if Jill comes within a 100 miles of him , well , lets just say his private security has special orders ....

ha ha made ya look :P and it could be true ...

Mike,

I love you, bro but this thread (tease, joke) is the kind that belongs on phantasytour.com. I know its a joke on your part and intended to spread good, clean fun. I didn't like it because there are constant threads on other message boards that are posted in this manner, ie: misleading subject line making the reader get excited only to find out they got "punked," by the author. Again, you had only nice intentions and I appreciate that. It just reminds me of other message board behavior that I absolutely hate. My 2 cents.

Back to the thread subject, adding Mickey Hart would be great for Further.

I added a question mark to the title to change the direction of the thread , but it really was just meant to have some fun ... stay away from those other boards , they bad for ya :)

The Blackwater boys are doing a great job. Hiding me on the golf course was a stroke of genius!!! Hope everyone is well. Looking forward to getting back on the road next week.

Fire on the Mountain was not meant to be rapped.... Keep Mickey off the mic, as well as Phil...

Risin' up, back on the street

Did my time, took my chances

Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet

Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast

You change your passion for glory

Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past

You must fight just to keep them alive

Chorus:

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight

Risin' up to the challenge of our rival

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night

And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat

Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry

They stack the odds 'til we take to the street

For we kill with the skill to survive

chorus

Risin' up, straight to the top

Have the guts, got the glory

Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop

Just a man and his will to survive

chorus

The eye of the tiger (repeats out)...

funny, i just saw a video of Bobby playin' Shakey Ground at a benefit the other nite...ought we expect a breakout of it soon? {tongue in cheek, of course}

Bobby is one of a kind ... he is really staying busy these days and looks physically fit ... maybe Phil got him back on track ? :)

Bobby said in an interview recently...

"Comes A Time in a man's life when he has to decide to be healthy or not, I chose the first"

something like that.

He made a wise choice !!!

If only.........The Drummers would get on board with Phil and carry the music - Furthur ;)

If only the Drummers would abandon thier ideals & chase the all mighty dollar.......

Wondering how the solo drummer sound appeals to the masses- Time will tell, But I'm betting that Furthur can continue to do no wrong amongst thier fans!

Peace,

Rob

I think they're gonna sound kinda weak in the drum section if they don't bring on another drummer , the drums weren't a real power house to begin with and not for lack of talent ... Joe and Jay are both good drummers , just not enough time together to develop ... we'll see what Joe can do as a solo drummer , maybe he's going to tear it up , time will tell and so will the fans ... supposedly Mickey and Billy have a project going on together , Richy was telling me something about that today ...

I suspect there will be little difference in Furthur's sound as I really don't think Jay added a lot to the music. I could always hear Joe and what he was laying down, but really had to strain to hear anything Jay did (other than constantly bash a cymbal with a tambourine and that got really old).

I'm also on the team that is in favor of a 2nd kit drummer for Furthur - I think the added punch would make a big difference in the overall sound.
