  1. Since we're on the subject here , there and everywhere: https://archive.org/details/gd1987-08-18.145599.nak300.in-house.fm.composite.hessberg.miller.clugston.flac1648 Weird, I put in August 20, 1987 hoping for Park West and it brings up the pesky Compton Terrace, even when I went back and did a second search. I know Park West was taped by our people with AKG460 dbx D5, guess I'll have to dig up my tape and send it to someone that does digital transfers. 8/20/87 opened with Big Boss Man. 2nd set,: ChinaRyder, truckin>smokestack and Stella showed up (that's all I can remember)
  2. Yep,deadbase has Chandler. I just remember it being a big field with the reserved seating in front and some kinda barrier keeping us GA folks behind the front section. Not much of any structures built up. I was chasing 87 like it was 85, thinking something big was waiting for this show following Telluride. Terrapin was big and then after the space Fantasy and I was ready to head up to Park West for the rail. I did summer school in Tempe at ASU that's why I always thought of this show as T. Thanks for bringing your project online and making it available for all. Incredible work
  3. The GDP ticket states: Compton Terrace Firebird Lake- Tempe, AZ Tuesday - AUG. 18, 1987 7:30PM RAIN OR SHINE Est. Price......$14.55 Tax.................. .95 I.O. & I.F. .50 Total....... $16.00 Please, no cans, bottles, alcohol or video equipment. Tickets probably printed and shipped before the change
  4. Wondering why the 87 Compton Terrace show is left out of the venues section? That was a nice show after RR>Telluride and right before the Park West experiments. I sent you a message in your contact part to help with filling the gaps〽️
  5. Anyone needs a place to crash after Huber, we got two full couches and plenty of flooring space. I'll be up all night after this one. It is an hour drive though
  6. Wow! I was hearing Interlocken was the show not to miss and believe it seeing that's where the Scarlet Fire happened, let alone Morning Dew to close. Merits the 6 1/2 drive from Indy. Cleveland should be big with it being 4,1/2 hrs. That Fire at Jubilee was REALLY good
  7. It's gotta be hard on Kesey, just as it was for Kahn. I mean he had to live on without. John only made it a year. I remember thinking that first year after he was gone how it must've been for Bobby. He got to with him so much more than any of us creating an unfathomable sorrow. Jerry always was the one coming on stage right out of the shoot with smiles and encouragement for the others on stage. That's what stands out me when I watch the concert videos. Then everyone would warm up and make the best of the time they got to play. Peace to all of us that have lasted through the years without. Some didn't make it through that first summer.
  8. once and a while you can get shown the light ... if you look at it right!
  9. Yes and wondering if they'll have to move it indoors with ⚡storms predicted up until After Midnight. Grand Rapids is also 6pm. Cleveland is the first show at 8pm. (Guess their figuring it's during the work week for locals) They got their work cut out for them tonight considering how Indy folks were dosed this past weekend.
  10. Hyryder first night of Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash Celebration. First set cut short due to Charlie's guitar breaking down, but oh my what a night from what I can recall: #1 Alabama Getaway Promised Land TLEO Used to Love Her Dire Wolf BEW Hard to Handle Foolish Heart ...? #2 Gomorrah Help Slip Franklins Doin That Rag Cryptical Other One Cryptical Mission in the Rain Stronger than Dirt Uncle Johns Band Alligator Viola Lee Blues After Midnight Eleanor Rigby After Midnight Brokedown Palace Might As Well (1hr 51 min)
  11. Yes! My only time at cal expo and we had to take shifts either being the mic stand with the AKG 460's horn hat or running the D5 levels and flips FOB. 3 shows meant six shifts to be filled.
  12. New Jersey played in New Jersey - nice🪅 , those hometown shows played with the possibility of hometown audience folks getting a second dose is worthy of consideration. Esp at the level DSO is currently performing. That would be a 25 year wait for those who started in 98. Unless Roosevelt had already been done in NJ? If not, I wonder the calculations that make this happen within the band. We (lots you here on the forums and those not) got to finally celebrate Riverbend 85 after the 23 years of finger crossed hopes. I remember reading forum post of ff being at the 85 SC Halloween show. Was that also played in SC and if so how long was the wait? Carry on with reviews all you generous posters
  13. ET told me not to worry about missing this year's fest due to having Phish tickets this same weekend. They're taking up residence for years to come is what he reassured me at the Rockford show.
  14. It's an open floor which is nice for dancing and there's 5-6 steps that take you up to a wrap around second level. Grateful it's not James Brady center in Cincy (both venues built about the same time a few years ago.), Riverfront Live is the preferred venue. Last year I missed the first half of the first set arriving late at 8:20, but the free movement of the floor made for a great show.
  15. I'm thinking of just making a full day tailgate for the SAT August 12 show and going to Indy up and back in the same day with the plethora of Nov shows that are possible. Any Cincy folks want to caravan up for Huber? Or do a one day trip to Indy?
  16. I certainly can't afford to go on my own leaving Indy to Michigan and into Cleveland having to shellout hotels. When Hunter performed at the Chicago House of Blues in 2002, during the first night of three(4/28, 4/29 & 4/30) my friend and I got invited to stay with kind, interesting and fun folks right up the street for our time in town. What's it like at a show? As far as is it like it used to be on Syracuse campus in October of 84 where every house was open for the chosing or are people even considering out of towners before, during and after the show? I've been instructed to tint my windows and convert my passenger seat into a cozy night time sleeper. It's gonna happen but not for August. Any thoughts suggestions, encouragements, campgrounds?
  17. I like Hardpan complimenting the band getting everyone into the teton mountains, when I told my college skiing friend who now lives in Nashville he couldn't believe how reasonable they were. I always thought DSO keep good pricing. I remember doing a 5 night boulder Denver run and yay-hoos were up in arms about $25.00 tickets. I reminded them how good they were and $25.00 for a two setter night in an intimate settings with the caliber of the other fans was ridiculous. Well I guess it's rapping up about now and hopefully we'll get the kind posts like the 1st and 2nd shows. Thanks for mentioning the sunset during the start of the second set. Reminded me of that Scarlet Fire at Annie's outdoors by the river with the sun being scarlet and going 🔥. Esp with the Jerry Band Roses and ending Lonesome to send everyone out into the lot together. They few times I caught one it was a show stopper with smiles and good spirits all about
  18. Alpine 84, with the night before spacing into Dear Mr Fantasy and the following shows being the Greek series with the Friday the 13th experiment. That Fantasy was a big deal around here in 84, made Alpine a destination site for years to come, getting bigger and longer until the final rainout series in 89 and the end of the most spectacular parking lot camping EVER
  19. How was the Micheal Cleveland inclusion? Tonight' s is cut down to one set because of the rain coming in,but oh what set. When the guest female vocalists joined in it was all JGB. Saint>Wang Dang Doodle, lay down Sally, Tore up, midnight moonlight, love light, mns I think I'm missing something. Oh yeah, St Stephen after MM
  20. 3 in Nashville, 2 in Dayton, 3 in Chicago. That RR WSP event has a YouTube video sped up to show the rocks being covered by blankets as doors open
  21. Saratoga 85 Midnight Hour> Bertha>little Red Rooster Stagger Lee>El Paso>Crazyfingers>Supplication jam>High Time, Hell In a Bucket>Don't Ease *followed by another emotional first set the next night in a rain soaked Hershey Park
  22. Won't be my last and still have sights on the August run🤞
  23. Exceptional Stella Blue
  24. I knew that Dark Star was coming out at homebase after the Rockford show which I met my home town friend on his way back from Montana. Every show since coming back from Ventura has been really good. The shows leading up to S & R put a lot of pressure on the band. At RL Blair said it got real when plane tickets were in hand. ❤️ "What makes you ryde so high to put a loving star back in an empty sky" ⚡ "You don't change those chilly winds for any other place"
