  1. Just as I thought I could step away from BMFS he announces a six night run Dayton, Louisville X3, indy X2 and joins Bob Weir at Sweetwater playing ChinaRyder
  2. The 1/31/22 Chicago Emmylou show setlist is up on setlistfm site. Created a Making Believe 3rd song in and a rare presentation of The Band's version of Evangeline, white whale material, she's going into the whole catalog. Now's the time to get a show in. Thinking of the upcoming Disneyland show, driving, gotta use of lose hrs, stop in vegas to refuel, then Santa Monica. Get that full road effect🙂
  3. Eaton did some terrific taping with a three mic setup, he's up there with Miller as a provider
  4. Thats an incredible setlist. Hope you all jammed out. Looks like a list a real dead band could play without lyric monitors. All songs staples. Ive seen some new dead covers who had to read the lyrics to Eyes, big turn off, those are words we live by and truthful singer would know them or not play it. JK taught me at a Boulder show that a person can learn Days Between and so I did. Delivery is much more meaningful when the lyrics are memorized the way the songwriter wrote. Either memorize the script or get off the stage. DSO knows the script so then deliver new experiences each time played. BCE knows their lyrics also. Speaking of Born Coss Eyed, Anyone got the setlist from Zanzabar this past Sat? Lagr hook us up, you got the connect
  5. Amused To Death by Roger Waters esp The Bravery of Being Out of Range now that all the tv "news" broadcasters are so happy they can report on Russia hitting Ukraine. Yay, ugh. Oops, I thought I was in the Now Listening to topic "It all rolls into one and nothing comes for free. Theres nothing you can hold for very long" you know the rest⚡
  6. Funny that billy strings is tweeting for everyone to join in the fun of his current tour. His shows used to be 10-15 dollars at up close small bars. Now he's playing arenas and asking for $75. I dont see the "fun" of stringing a tour together at $75 each stop and being in an arena. I'll be at the cincy shows but that's probably my last. At the end of Jerry's life, Warfield and Wiltern shows had my interest and he never charged $75 a ticket. Kudos for Dark Star Orchestra in trying to keep shows under $50 after "fees" are figured in. The upcoming Newport show comes in around $43, I'll be showing up there about 8:20 as I facilitate a depression support group Thursday nights until 8 in NKY. Helping others then helping myself. Ramblin where ramblin can be done
  7. Are you referring to Mission in the Rain with the jgb in ( ) or the beatles Rain that the dead did or are you asking for the current jgb line up to bring it back? Wondering why jgb is in title?
  8. Probably just in the early days of scarlet and fire getting together. Then they knew what they had. They ended first sets a bunch with ChinaRiders in the 80' even though they got together in the early 70's right? Takes us back to the debate possed before of which would you rather see with consideration of their rotation. Or maybe not,
  9. Every song looks choice, building and moving in different directions but keeping sites on the Weight. Looks like a REAL GOOD TIME, thx for taking us there Dharmada, keep on keeping on like you dew⚡🎶📰
  10. or didnt see Emmylou was here in Brown County Indiana but the show was postponed due to threatening ice. Looks like either April or July with her current schedule. Setlist from Thursday in Chicago would be nice? I'll get ya back
  11. Its sad, but miraculous we can sometime live vicariously on the road with the web. Indulge us please. We got a monster winter storm coming in, need a miracle Take us on tour⚡ MC's and sml's play by play posts are missed. And a whole host of others through the years 📰❄💕

  13. Not so fast, the Bengals just beat the Chiefs about a month ago. The noise factor is what will work against another Bengals win.
  14. Seven Mary Three, Greta Van Fleet, Stone Temple Pilots when Scott Weigand was alive and Bob Seger.
  15. Burrows is tired of the underdog narrative.
  16. 2003, ahh when new years was in Indy! Countdown>Shakedown That's kinda a favorite as we were back celebrating New Years Eve with everyone
  17. When you hook up with mutual Emmylou Harris fans and drive the 12 hours. We were especially psyched for the symphony backing. Her songs can be charted for amazing results with a full symphony. My first show was Emmylou with the Ft Collins symohony in 1987, we really needed ELH that night. Imagine going to see Garcia and Kahn and instead Ray Coniff Jr. Is there? Nothing against HR; however, when on the trail nothing compares. HR probably put on a good show, we drove back to Salisbury heavy hearted. Big drift, Brent singing 40,000 Headman
  18. Back Feb. 1997 Went to see Emmyou with the Raliegh ,NC symphony, two shows, Fri and sat. Upon entering they handed us a playbook stating Helen Reddy's songs for the night. I asked an usher what that meant. She said Helen Reddy was replacing ELH. I replied no she's not, she can't be replaced. They refunded out tickets and gave us free seats for HR, three songs in we left, it was a low point in my concert career. Paid off when I told Emmylou what happened during her March spring tour in Kalamazoo. She put me on the guest list for the upcoming sold out Saturday night show at Park West in Chicago, then was invited backstage after the show to share two more bottles of wine with her and a couple of other friends. Needless to say I am not a Helen Reddy fan and from then on got to sit in her soundtracks that year catching 15 more shows.
  19. Born Cross Eyed 1/8/22 Zanzabar Louisville,KY (With Dino the whole show) set one:8pm Jack Straw, Dire Wolf, My Brother Esau, Ramble On Rose, Used To Love Her, Walkin' Blue, Masterpiece, Doin That Right, Music Never Stopped. 9:17pm Set two: 9:37pm Scarlet>Fire, Lost Sailor>Saiint.VIOLA LEE BLUES>Wharf Rat>0&0>US Blues>Lovelight! Hard 11pm stop, no encore but they sure put on a fun show considering the time restraint, too much fun!
  20. I gotta go with my last show 9/25/21. Riverbend 85 That taft 10/31/83 was very special being on a powerful gel and knowing we were experiencing something as important as the last supper. Annies with JK, sunset scarlet fire st stephen, lots of good shows at the newport in columbus, esp the show where they played Zappa before show, set break and after show for house music. My 2nd frank show was in november 1984 at the newport, early and late shows nice of dso bringing frank alive again. As the thread started just one: 9/25/21 Riverbend 85
  21. Rockin' spiraling leads with simple direct lyrics, at times it calms down and we all get to enjoy life round here, then back to the creshendas⚡ Wonder why the dead didnt play it and now everyone tries their hand at it? Saw a surprising acoustic rumpke mtn boys version at Shady O Gradys, but why not any in the 80's or 90's, yet now it happens as much as St Stephen? Not a complaint, just discussion, maybe they peaked it in the 60's? But then we did get crytical in 85, I certainly love being there when a viola lee blues begins knowing its going to build and build and then explode and everyone will be getting down. All songs are great when their context and delivery blend to give meaning, joy and sorrow to the life we live. I think Ammagamalin Street is one of the best albums ever written, esp gypsy parlor lights. Love a live viola and give credits to the musicians who delve in it
