Dso doesn’t need to memorize a dead show note for note. They just need it transcribed and play the sheet music note for note. It’s a lot harder to flirt with the groupies when your eyes are on sheet music. I know when I played sax in jazz band jamming out some chick corea that when reading music you aren’t aware of all the hotties screaming and wanting backstage at the high school gym. But what girl can resist a Chick Corea composition. None.

Great interview. Every time I hear Dino tell a story, it’s pretty much the exact way as the last. For me so many details change over time. I even had an argument with Chris about him being at jubilee when he said he wasn’t that year(he was). Note eatons mention of the nitrous mafia as I couldn’t find the old post where Eaton talked about it destroying the scene and how you’d become persona non grata if you had a tank at any show. Think someone was asking about bringing a tank to jubilee and I said that’s about the only thing besides fighting or stealing that will get you booted in a second from jubilee. There was one year pretty early on at jubilee that we heard a tank going and a swarm of security went on the hunt. but don’t forget the Ticketmaster reviewer who said the dead quit playing those songs for a reason!! From an interview Jerry said he quit playing the eleven b/c it was too hard and they had to practice it too much to keep it in rotation. Maybe Tea can talk to Dso like he did hyryder and have them pull out a 67 show with a fast surfer style cold rain lol.

I’m so glad Jerry jones is going all in this year shooting for a superbowl! Unfortunately he set his calendar wrong and Dallas was the only team who didn’t sign a player in the legal tampering period. We only lost 4 starters so far. But we also have an extra 7th round pick Booyah. Yes we traded our 4th rounder to the 49ers for a failed QB in Trey Lance and added 5mil guaranteed to our books this year. But we have 3 draft picks out of the 1st 200!!! That will be our all in.

Shows are way less important than before. He should be ready for his 1st jubilee in 2028 I’d guess. Getting away fit a weekend here and there is awesome but I’m pretty mentally tired and feel lucky to have gotten 5 Dso shows on fall tour. The drive home Sunday night from Chattanooga sucked but was necessary to get max shows. We will pop Dso every time they are within 6 hours of us as long as weekend. It sorta sucked that we had 5 Dso and 3 phish all in a 1 month period.

You did have a babysitter at jubilee last year. Just sayin. That’s why I joke about the nanny. And I don’t have the money to spare for 2 Hawaii shows. If no baby we’d likely be there but 5k for 2 shows ain’t happening. My parents live at their beach house 3 months of the year. She kept him last weekend but not flying to Hawaii unless staying a week or so and that’s 10k and definitely a no. Plus I don’t want to be away from him for long periods like Europe. We can’t wait until he’s ready for a show but it ain’t now. He’s ultra happy with endless energy. We’d just be chasing him around and good luck with asking him to stay put. It’s 55 outside and he refuses to put shoes on. He’s a barefoot kid as it is but when it’s this temp he considers warm I can barely get a shirt on him lol. The whole beach week last year he was shirtless inside and out lol. He’s bruised all over being so rough but never cries. They say don’t be like oh crap are you ok or it will make the kid think he should cry. Not this one. He thinks it will make us make him stop so he never cries but that’s a product of his wild man personality. Thought a trampoline would wear him down. Nope. I’m getting him into football. Strong safety as he’s gonna prob be 6’ or 6’1” and not skinny like his daddy. My moms freaking out already about wanting him to play football.

Beach July 4-14 staying with Chris on the 4th at the halfway point. In a few years when he’s a bit older he will do the 3 week beach run like my brothers kids and we may try to pop one of the 4th of July mini runs. There was a stretch where we were the only 2 doing those whole 6-7 show runs. I know we were the only ones that finished at summerfest on that scorcher temperatures run.. I think we were also the only ones to do San Diego through redrocks too. I loved those mid summer runs. I think Scottie did some of that and remember us asking if he wanted to do deadco shoreline with us since we were in the bay already and he was like no way. That is my all time fav mid summer run. We also saw moe and phil and friends do a Sunday 2p-8p show at the beach park in perfection weather. Had brunch at terrapin crossroads and Phil was walking around the restaurant saying hi to peeps but didn’t stop at ours lol. Just thinking about that summer makes me giddy inside.

Looks like Colorado got the goods this summer.

Jonathan would be a terror at 10pm. He can’t stay up that late. If the Asheville were at 6 then maybe but no way we’d have any fun as he goes where he wants and we’d have to follow. Luckily your kids stay put.

5/17 Asheville salvage station 5/18 Asheville salvage station 5/19 Wilmington NC i was just told we are doing the Asheville ones even though the weekend before jubilee……The only reason I’d contemplate it right before we head out the Thursday after for jubilee is I’m guessing our non jubilee Carolina’s friends will likely be in attendance.

gotta hop in a car and make a road trip. Dso hasn’t played a show less than 2 hours from us in around 20 years. We fill the tank with gas and open Waze and enter the address where we are going then follow its instructions and voila, we are at a show so many hours later!!! It’s worked 200+ times and counting. Before they came up with GPS, it was impossible to make shows but now it’s not!! 1st step is get to a car lot and purchase a car then install a good GPS on your smartphone. If no smartphone, pick up a Garmin at Best Buy. I’m still holding onto my gsrmin stock hoping people will stop using phones and go back to standalone GPS. Can’t get any worse than losing 95% of its value but I was sure that Amazon was a trend and doubled down on Sears.

We are at Hyryder Indy right now with Tea, toomuchfun and duck and it’s Tea’s 1st show and everyone is wearing Hi my name is Ed nametags!!! Everyone knew he was seeing his 1st show as he’s their biggest FB fan and it’s like we are with a rockstar. They grabbed him to go backstage and peeps buying him t-shirts as some thought he was an AI bot. This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The band even put him in bill Walton territory asking him to put together a setlist even though they nixed it as he went way too deep 😂. Several peeps here came up to me asking if I was him b/c I was a black haired dude they didn’t know. The dude who thought he was a fake account told his buddy I owe him a shirt since I thought he was fake guessing the songs so fast. Even chicks are wearing the hi my name is Ed name tags lol. Fun times with a bunch of Dso friends and my bae meili. Have a great night guys

Oh boy since I’ll be at the beach I decided to play this show. Seems a good show until might as well and prob the worst job Jerry ever did remembering the lyrics. I was like wow he was completely winging it like he hadn’t sung it in years. He’s forgotten more lyrics to an Althea but maybe not might as well. I don’t envy the band having to go soooo deep into a catalog written by a poet. We covid do a Katy Perry tribute with 2 times singing along to any song but with Hunter, it ain’t happening. There may be a few if you that can sing Everything song perfect but I ain’t the one. Edit: and if you are playing the show, use the matrix from John A’s 4TB drive. The SBD levels aren’t great and the matrix brings it together better. I assume you are all listening to his mega drive as you sip your cocktails tonight. This show does have a SBD, matrix, and 2 different audience recordings although not one of his personal aud ones. Only a few not available anywhere else did he deem worthy of being included on the drive. Speaking of that I believe mine is about in need of an update with all the releases since this time.

when they announce just 1 show without connectors I can’t do anything. Was like that Atlanta show in the fall. Single show announce then a bit later the connectors. Unfortunately I can’t do a single show but gimme 3 shows in a spot and maybe I’m in. oh crap we are at the beach that week blah.

lol I thought you were ton banjo. Just saw the purple circle and flashed by the name. I was definitely confused thinking he was planning multiple RT drives including a mid week one. Plus your name keeps making me think of another Steve Reynolds we’ve seen shows with. Turns out there are more than a few Steve Reynolds at dead shows. Must be strange having another’s name. I’m the only one of me in the world meaning my last name is a weird one.

I don’t mind knowing the show but I’ll never look at the set list. Don’t wanna know what’s played. Cotter needs to channel his inner Healy on these. My only qualm is Dso doesn’t mess with the sound like the dead did mid 80’s. Saw Dso do the summer 85 riverbend show without any of the crazy delay that Healy did on GSET. Gimmick or not it’s not really an era recreation without taking the good with the bad and make that shit echo and on those other ones, give Eaton the demon voice. Demon voice!!! If you were dosed in the 80s which was a 90%+ certainty, those effects would send you to space. Saw the 1st deadco tour train wreck when they still played normal tempo in 2015 Fall and during west LA fadeaway they added some delay that made me almost lose my shit. Had to shake my head to come back.

Thanks Ron or whoever for getting this back up. Just the other day was reading some 5yr old posts. Brought back lots of memories. Lots of good stuff on here.
