  1. I’m liking ‘doin that rag’
  2. What a beautiful story and oh, how I can relate. It reminded me of my mother doing needlepoint and such. She always did the pieces to give to others. I have one hanging on the wall in my bedroom. As I read more, it reminded me of what I do with furniture. Wether refinishing a piece or making a piece out of old barn wood or a plank that washed up on the shores of the Chesapeake. I dream about what I am going to do then, tackle a project every winter when things are slow. I find such enjoyment out of the work. My home is full of these works of art, physical manifestations of the love within, just like your grandmothers works of art with fabric as the medium. Your grandmothers story is wonderful.
  3. I like that set list a lot. Songs not in their usual slot, at least as far as latter day placement. Also, not the usual pairing up of songs, again, latter day. It almost has an elective feel to it. I bet a lot of the songs started with an element of surprise for the fans in the crowd. The fun never ends.
  4. Original show date was the day that my first child was born.
  5. My dad used to call my daughter peanut. Nice. Protect her ears.
  6. For me, when it all runs together and it’s just a big blur, that’s how I know it was a perfect time. When you just get lost on all of it. Congrats,MC. Your earlier report had me thinking I was there too. It’s all a blur.
  7. Yea, that’s what tipped me off too.
  8. I saw Lucas Nelson on Austin City Limits on public television a little while back. I loved it! I was impressed. Unfortunately, that’s a busy time of the year for me. There’s just no way I can make it.
  9. That will put the conspiracy theorists out of business!
  10. Looks it. Estimated and eyes switched places. Interesting, I bet that was nice to hear. Help/slip but no Frank. War frat instead. Nice. Lisa singing white rabbit? I had someone tell me Saturday night that the highlight of jam in the sand last year was Lisa singing White Rabbit. Kinda funny, they just keep pulling a rabbit out of the hat. Makes you wonder why don’t I just go to every show they play.
  11. HaHa! I gotta ask. Are your legs cramping from dancing in Philly or from being down on your knees talking the misses into catching a show? I hope you guys have a blast! I have a short video clip of Lisa on harmonica during Hurts me too, Saturday night, that I am trying to post but neither I or any one else in this one horse town has the wherewithal to figure it out. Any suggestions? I hope everyone’s new year is even better than the last! Enjoy!
  12. They played that show in Baltimore, Rams head about ten years ago. That’s the show where my niece’s boyfriend proceeded to tell me at set break every song that I was going to hear that night. I’m so glad she dumped him.
  13. BACK into Uncle John’s Band ! The band was pretty exploratory, being themselves. Every body was having fun. I’d say the drums were eighties style. Lisa was channeling Janis on Hurts me too. She gives it all she’s got and then some. Barraco was beating the keys hard during Alligator. Home stretch was nuts. Dueling guitars.
  14. unbelievably rocking elective. Second set home stretch was as good as it gets. Early rocking stuff. THe band was on fire! My eggs are scrambled.
  15. Row jimmy was delicate, so nice. Space into the wheel was a great showcase for the band. Great playing. Bass bombs on Truckin’ and Sugaree. Masterpiece was fun. My first Eighties set list from Dark Star Orchestra in about a dozen years. I talked to quite a few people who were seeing them for the first time. I danced my face off. Hope I live through tonight.
  16. That was more fun than eating dirt! Highlights for me were Barraco doing far from me and encore Black muddy river. Tons more I am not recalling, just woke up. This band is tight!
  17. I’m seeing show at 7:30 on their site. I’m guessing doors an hour before.
  18. Just got settled in my hotel room, boots off, tye dye socks and sneakers going on! It won’t be long now. Psyched!!!!
  19. How bout in front of the sound board, for starters? I’m going back a dozen years but there’s a lot down the street, a half a block north. Julie Andrews twirling and snow angels! I may have lied about North.
  20. Last conversation I had at fall tour closer was that they are fashionably late, just a few minutes. Isn’t Lisa’s birthday right around now?
  21. Yea, it’s pouring it’s ass off over here.(but not a drop on me!) be careful, safe travels. Rain is ‘predicted’ to stop in time for lot scene to start. I’m feeling an Eighties show and praying for a ‘masters’ Bouquet’ filler. Is that too much to dream?
  22. It won’t be long now! I just finished all my chores. Nothing left to do but play Dead. Gonna be great!
