    Rude

Rarely am I at a loss for words - takes everything I have to share much of anything right now. Words of remembrance simply don’t justice to who he was as a friend, a companion, and a vibrant spirit. From the night he stumbled into our campsite, and all the years that followed, he lived life with the throttle down. Piercing eyes with a piercing intellect to match. The joy that DSO brought him was undeniable, unchained, and unbound. He stoked those fires in us and it commanded our full attention. DSO would announce a tour and he planned the full itinerary in about 3 minutes. Where we would be staying, where we could eat, who we could meet up with, what sporting events would coincide with our travels, venue dancing pros/cons, and what recreations might be in the offing. Literally 3 minutes flat. Oh buddy - you were way too loved for it to end here. There were so many worldly tribulations still left unspoken and still unsolved and we tackled so many of them together. Quick with an insult immediately chased with a quick smile. Too smart for your own good methinks. A part of all of us left shattered with little desire to sweep up the pieces because it’s all we have left. Rest easy, Rude - and Rude you were. You thought it, and then you said it - consequences be damned. It’s who you were - beautifully unapologetic. You leave us gutted, searching for meaning in something that will never make sense. Salt of the earth gang - signing off until we meet again some day
  4. Sad and mad sums it up for now.
  5. Today
  6. I lost a brother last night. This community lost a brother. WE lost a brother. RIP Rude. You had waaaaay more to offer here than there. I am thankful for about 13yrs of travel adventures (all perfectly planned to the letter by you!) seeing shows, going to Vegas, talking sports, making fun of people, eating killer food, spending hours talking about nothing, expanding our minds, dancing, and dancing, scheming to get upgrades, haha you were the best. I’m sad you’re gone, I’m glad I got the time with you I did. Peace always brother. Y’all tell some Rude stories and let’s talk this thing out. Not sure what else to say or do.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Sorry to hear that. He will be missed.
  9. What am I missing here? Clarification please.
  10. Ya heartbroken but also pissed off confused some disbelief. I’m not sure if I’d hug him or sock him in the jaw right now but I do know I won’t get to do either.
  11. Lots of emotions right now. You were loved.
  12. Damn. I’m so torn up. Incomprehensible. Floored. Sad. Mad.
  13. You might want to save this post to remember a good friend
  14. Last week
  15. I wish they had gone further than the abrupt stop at Z2 and although it was advertised as "never before seen footage" I've had all that material since the 90's. It was nice though to see it on the IMAX screen and through the theater sound system. I love the part where they play Communications Breakdown at the community theater with all the housewives putting their hands over their young ones ears. The band is raging and just playing to each other solidifying their commitment to trying to create the best music possible without worrying about audience response. Very similar to the grateful dead's approach. I can vivdly remember my Wednesday night show in Cincinnati with Jimmy in his white dragon suit. Saw SRTS when it came out in 76, then the concert in 77. Then the next time seeing SRTS I was disappointed with all the offstage footage ~ I was hooked on live concerts from then on. However, now, I highly recommend folks to watch SRTS and the YouTube 2022 remastered Sept Seattle 77 show. Definitely a touring band similar to Jerry in that as the tour progressed the music got better. Glad you finally checked it out. Now go watch SRTS and Seattle 77(remastered version) and if you can, the newly remastered director's cut of Earl Court 75🔥🔥🔥
  16. Great Doc. the live dazed and confused full improv is maybe the best thing I’ve ever hear. I think now if I had to go back in time I’d do Zep tour in 69 over dead. They recorded all of Led Zeppelin 2 during tour at different studios along the way. And they did it all live in studio. They fed off each other so live was the way. They were my fav band most of my life. Only saw a couple tributes. Led Zeppelin 2 and some other I don’t recall. But they shred. Watch it. It’s on Netflix or streamm4u.com.co if you don’t want to pay. what’s funny is the Fillmore west shot them into stardom
  17. sweet 2 nights of hyryder!! If nothing else they bring heavy dance energy. Jgb is the filler band
  18. I have seen the basement. They’re having fun.
  19. I mean the ledges and more for jgb and to show Whitney a place that means a whole hell of a lot to me but no complaints getting hyryder too. It helps that the ledges is right around where we will be with the RV at the time.
  20. going to see 2 nights of hyryder at grateful fest? There are like 6 grateful fests. The one in Arizona has a bad ass lineup but figured you meant the ledges since that’s a great camping spot.
  21. You needed your rest for your busy weekend. Praise DSO.
  22. Emmylou is playing a benefit for her dog rescue mission in Nashville with Daniel Lanois (produced Wrecking Ball and Malcolm Burn (produced Red Dirt Girl) in celebration of 30 yrs of Wrecking Ball. Unbelievably there are still seat available and it's a Saturday night. It's going to be good 🔥🎶🛞🇱🇷 June 14th 7:30
  23. We do take a small reprieve from RV life coming up. Mother in law visits Colorado to see James Taylor and then we go to Hawaii (Kauai) for 6 days. Before doing Grand Canyon, Albuquerque, El Paso, Austin area, Gulf Shores Alabama, Fort Myers Beach, and then up to Ocean City for a few weeks of a family visit. Gonna catch some DSO shows around then. Then we hit the 4848 festival. Visit friends in Ohio. Hopefully, gratefulfest then out to California for dead60 (stop in Vegas on the way) then up coast of California into Oregon. Head home. Go visit Costa Rica to look at properties before the school year begins.
  24. Sounds like a fantastic summer. Safe travels.
  25. I didn’t get an invite either. But I think my box set has arrived. I’m debating on but will probably start a summer journey journal on here. Whitney and I are traveling all summer in RV this year. We just did 5 nights at giant city state park in southern Illinois. A good buddy got married Saturday. We head to a jellystone campground next for a little water park fun with the kiddos. Some bitter sweetness there we didn’t know about sages and spirits until we had already booked and told kids we was going to jellystone so we will miss some great music at the Mishawaka here. But it’s all worth it. We seeing lots of music. Lots of nature and lots of friend this summer.
  26. I didn’t receive my invite- was there a mistake??? 😹
