  1. As the Shakers sang, ”Tis a gif to be simple, 'tis a gif to be free'Tis a gif to come down where I ought to be...”
  2. I have been filmed. I have been photographed. I have been mocked. I have been emulated. I am not able to shed light, much less master. If I was more coordinated I would be less of a spectacle. Most others here are poetry in motion. And I strive to listen to the music play and to ignore those recording for posterity. Interlopers are irritating but transitory as they tend to get bored and move on.
  3. I’m very glad I went.
  4. The much loved TN, yes. And it seems like we got it not too many years ago in CO. It makes no difference, night or day The shadow never seems to fade away
  5. Indeed. There is beauty there. And the job Eaton does on It Makes No Difference is magical. I’m glad that those of you who saw this saw this.

Hi Doc! I was being a little facetious and there certainly are shows in my future. The Jubilee is is not happening for me this year. Got Red Rocks? 😎

I think that calls for an appropriate uniform. People feel better when they know order is being maintained. And Spandex is flexible when a move needs to busted.

I’m always grateful to anyone who makes the effort to share real-time during a show. It shows commitment and thoughtfulness by helping others who are interested in what the band plays. I never knew there was a protocol to posting the songs during the actual show. I know I have been an offender in years gone by. Now that matters have been clarified I will try to be in compliance if I ever see any shows again.
  9. We were back among the trees behind the pit last time. Sound wasn’t optimal but space was. I’ll buy a couple of tickets today and we’ll see how it goes. Sure would be nice if this could be combined with Paso Robles again. That made for a grate little run.
  10. The last time they played Alaska, around 8 years ago, people made the trip and had a really good time. True story.
  11. 12-11-92 Oakland Filler: Why Don’t We Do it in the Road; Tore Up; I’ll Take a Melody Wonderful time and the pain I am in now was worth every second of dancing bliss. More to come. Highlight of the highlights: Eyes>Corrina. Discuss amongst yourselves!
  12. They’ve been doing electives since I stared seeing them in ‘01, and probably before that. An elder Starhead may be able to confirm. Bueller? Anniversary recreations have usually been the exception rather than the the norm. The good news is that in recent years (like the course of this decade) they have become more frequent. The bad news is that Terrapin Nation seems to have faded away. It all has evened out, I suppose.
  13. I would certainly hope so! And Happy New Year to all you all...cheers!
  14. That was some hot stuff.
  15. He will be remembered forever as an excitable boy. We are the better for him having been here, and he is sorely missed. What a body of work he left us. Never thought I'd have to pay so dearlyFor what was already mine...
  16. You forgot the classic "how 'bout them 'Boys?"
  17. Dewey has been problematic to some degree for many of us. It has been traumatic for a few. It is one place where you really, really should walk right. And that doesn't always help. Think of it as Hampton Beach squared.
  18. I'm no Abby but common sense dictates that you give them all raises, have neither set working hours nor job requirements, implement a bonus policy that rewards any attendance whatsoever, and certainly remove all obligations to communicate in any manner with mere clients or customers. Fucking Gen X and Boomers. We can't die off soon enough.
  19. Well, I wasn't there to personally help with construction but I can do a quick online search with the best of them. And I don't know about being the caretaker but that does sound nicer than being a mortician.
  20. The Casino Ballroom is a venerable venue whose history goes back to 1899 (thank you, Internet). It is nice to be a small part of well over a century of dancing there!
  21. I think we all have memories of Dewey; a couple of them are even fond. I don't see myself going back there again either. Too much of anything can sometimes be too much. The thing I always liked about Hampton Beach was walking out of the venue after the show lit up like a Christmas tree and seeing how the cop cars were too. With their blue and red lights it was just so festive! But it did seem best not to stick around watching all the pretty colors. And when it comes to driving, a designated person really is the better part of valor. The video posted by August West in the other Hampton thread tells the tale pretty well.

That's it? That's your gallery? At least the subject and composition are first class...
