  1. Hi all - I'm Jon, from Connecticut. I met Rude over the weekend and he invited me to come down and join the board so while I'm sitting here in the airport making my way home from this mini run I thought I'd do just that. The very first thing I'd like to declare is something I'm sure so many of you already know, and that is Rude is not only an awesome guy but he is Extremely Generous. I got hang with him both while the music was playing and after and some of the things he did to spread love and positivity on a very personal level just made me say wow! He also told me there were a lot of fine folks here and that the board was one of positivity and light. I hope to meet many more of ya as it seems to me that the DSO family is a warm and loving one. After a lot of years and so many shows things reached a boiling point for me and I had to make some life changes, which also involved a live music hiatus. This summer when I was finally ready to jump back in I elected for DSO and when I got to my first show, saw & felt the scene and heard the music I just knew I was home. P.S. I love to dance~

  3. 9/8/88. My first Grateful Dead show and the first time I tried hallucinogenics. The day everything changed. Super excited to see it show up on a DSO list. Not long after Jerry died I wrote a song about the Grateful Dead. Titled it in honor of my first show. Here are the lyrics. “Spectrum ‘88” You gave the food of love to those who came to listen. We gave it back to you. The dust has cleared and your rays they still glisten. Your legacy is true. A song of love...a song of adventure A song to help you get through the night. A song so pure it could hold all the answers....to life. Thank you boys, you’ve done well. I hope you’re proud of yourselves. Thank you boys, you’ve done well by me. Inspiration bred a wonderful creation. It bears no label or a name. Belonging to no single generation. Were you the players or the game? A song of chance....a song of desolation. A song to help you see the light. A song so strong it spurred on a nation To new heights. Thank you boys, you’ve done well. i hope you’re proud of yourselves. Thank you boys you’ve done well by me.

  5. Last night’s JRAD show at the Anthem in total was my favorite of the 8 shows I’ve seen of theirs. BYW Cream Puff War is the perfect DC song capturing the insanity of what governmental issues seem to center upon. . don’t get me wrong —— I had fun——- but not as much fun as with my dancing DSO peeps! You all know how to get down and have some dance party fun. 💕

  9. Friday night JRAD Terrapin Suite was just lovely! I had the whole top tier in front of the bar to dance from 40 ft one end to the other without a sacrifice of sound as it turn downwards and back from the vaulted ceiling. Glad you had a good show. The crowd can be a little rough though. Glad for the crowd last night at the Anthem. It was packed but just a lovely space.
