  1. First post/reply in years. My dad had the same surgery 20 years ago when he was approaching his mid 70s. The doctor said the same thing about his chances, although the odds may have been lower for him. He went through very well and recovered relatively quickly even at his age at the time. Taking your friends age and 20 more years of medical industry experience, I believe he’ll be fine. since I haven’t posted in years, shout out of praise to all those Boulder and Red Rocks shows. Last summer’s Hamptons Long Island show was absolutely spectacular.

  3. My mom had a surgery where they had to put stents in the tubes in the back of her skull because the fluid wasn’t draining out. She was scared shitless for years, wouldn’t have the surgery, fought with my dad about it. Her former neurologist told her it was a horrible operation. The fluid buildup made her keep falling down. My dad learned that if he called 911 after a fall, they would take her to the hospital, get evaluated further. (Furthur?) when she was in the hospital, a family member visiting my mom’s roommate was talking with my mom. My mom told him she needed the operation but was looking for a sign. The person told my mom, ‘I am your sign. Let me be your sign.’ My mom said ‘ok’, Had the surgery and was fine. True story.

  4. 93/03/25 Dean Smith Center, UNC, Chapel Hill, NC Touch of Grey>Greatest Story, So Many Roads, Minglewood, Lazy River Road, Mexicali Blues> Big River, Friend of the Devil, Eternity, Liberty. China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider, Women Are Smarter, Wave to the Wind>Terrapin Station> Drums>Space>Way to Go Home>Other One> Morning Dew. E: The Weight. Second of the pair at the Dean Dome. List riddled with new material, but I recall the music inspired. SMR, after some early second set work, mostly a first set number. Six of first ten Eternitys were attached to Liberty. Wave to the Wind preceded Terrapin 3 out of 21 total plays. Way to Go led us out of space seven times in 93 [4] and 94 [3]. End late song research. 10 song first, 5/3/1 second with a Dew-solid for 93. Much like Tea, I consider these shows among the best of my late vintage attendances. Praise DSO.

  5. There’s no power hookups for RV’s. The walk from vip RV to the stage is around 500 feet paved. You can put chairs up behind the dance crowd or on the VIP deck. You’re super close everywhere. Minimal walking. BYOB. Bring a cooler of beer to the stage. Very chill and laid back. The VIP viewing area is behind the crowd. I don’t tbink it really offers much besides the water cooler and partial covered area in case it starts Down pouring. Make sure you get a VIP ticket for everyone in the RV and 1 RV vip pass. Everyone needs vip tix to get to the RV in vip. cheers P.S. GA RV is around a 1000 foot walk to the stage with probably a 100 foot vertical climb vs a 50 foot for vip rv. Your kids will love it. It’s fantastic. As long as you don’t punch anyone you won’t get in trouble. There are no arrests during the fest. No undercovers. It’s not like Bonnaroo where they work with cops to feed the police budget via 500 annual arrests. I remember 1 year someone had a 5 foot bong walking around at the rail lol. Year 1 and 2 there was also a topless chick. That’s definitely encouraged but not mandatory of course.
