Gotta finish the category 12/14/90 https://archive.org/details/gd1990-12-14.sbd.miller.89127.sbeok.flac16 I. Shakedown Street, Picasso Moon, El Paso, Little Red Rooster, Stagger Lee, When I Paint My Masterpiece, To Lay Me Down, Let It Grow II. Victim Or The Crime-> Foolish Heart, Women Are Smarter, He's Gone-> Drums-> Jam-> Dark Star (v2)-> I Need A Miracle-> Wharf Rat-> Turn On Your Love Light E: Knockin' On Heaven's Door smokin show. Gets marked down by some because of the setlists of the previous night. Take a listen to TLMD - holy Crap! That LIG is great - Phil bombs everywhere in that tune and the one at the end nearly broke my rib-cage. Foolish Heart is excellent and the best Women I’ve ever heard. The jam in there is worth a listen! Simply awesome guitar work. As lovelight was at the frenzy finish, a girl hopped up on stage, started spinning and then fell back into the crowd! I’m sure there’s video... Knockin had become pretty perfunctory - not this one. Jerry just goes next level. As it ends, the place is goin nuts and Jerry gets off a few waves before dissolving into the darkness of the stage.

That one was quite good - even if it was 1995. My personal favorite was 3/30/95 - no flubs and a beautifully-emotive delivery!

The crowd reaction on Box of Rain is right there with St. Stephen at MSG, Dark Star at Hampton, Casey Jones at RFK, and the Unbroken Chain at Philly. While I wish I would've been able to experience that bust-out with Gr8tfulpair, the rest of that show is like weak coffee - on tape anyway. I realize we talkin Spring '86 so Jerry was actively falling down into that hole. An honorable mention bust-out that wasn't, was the attempted Cosmic Charlie on 2/27/94. You can hear the crowd energy build and swell and then the loudest collective groan when Jerry takes a left turn into Wharf Rat. Some say it was a planned tease but I think Jerry just hit the emergency eject button.

12/13/90 https://archive.org/details/gd90-12-13.sbd.unknown.4988.sbeok.shnf One Jack Straw-> Sugaree, Wang Dang Doodle, Friend Of The Devil, Me & My Uncle-> Big River, Ramble On Rose, Memphis Blues, Valley Road Two Help On The Way-> Slipknot!-> Franklin's Tower, Saint Of Circumstance, Eyes Of The World-> Drums-> Jam-> The Other One-> Morning Dew-> Box Of Rain, E: U.S. Blues More X-Factor on this night despite the sub-zero temps outside. Stunning midi-jam on Ramble On Rose and that second set was warp speed from the jump. The lights were perfectly set to the opening notes of Help and off we went. A truly remarkable Saint of Circumstance to boot. While we didn't get the 'I guess it doesn't matter anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy' finish with the Dew, we were treated to an unexpected Box to close the set. God damn that McNichols run had the goods!

12/12/1990 Touch Of Grey-> Greatest Story Ever Told, Candyman, Walkin' Blues, Loose Lucy, Mexicali Blues-> Maggie's Farm, Queen Jane Approximately, Deal Set 2 China Cat Sunflower-> I Know You Rider, Looks Like Rain, Iko Iko, Dark Star-> Terrapin Station-> Drums-> Jam-> All Along The Watchtower-> Stella Blue-> Throwing Stones-> Not Fade Away, E: The Weight https://archive.org/details/gd1990-12-12.sbd.miller.109289.flac16 Closest I ever got to Jerry - this show simply turned me inside-out! The juice and 'IT' factor from this beauty was epicness - my hair was still on fire days later! Despite the really tough loss of Brent, that run from Compton Terrace through McNichols was a legendary experience. My brother and I wish each other Happy 12/12 Day every year!

That Eyes groove channeled ...music plays the band... perfectly! The whole show was so good but that Eyes just galloped and grooved along so smoothly! The bridge at the end kept alternating between dark/angry + happy/go lucky - not a note was wasted

I have a penchant for going on and on about the arc of each song when reviewing shows. They're fun for me to write since I get to relive the experience but maybe not nearly as much fun to read. Short and sweet then...... I thought the band was at the top of their game and everyone was treated to an outstanding thrill ride! The music always compels me to dance to try and physically channel it from start to finish. That was no easy task given the length and song selection of the show - I think I got most all of the way through it although I HAD to pause for a minute during the middle of Sugar Mags. My engine was bellowing smoke and dropping parts. The performance by band and crew was truly sublime. The vibe from the dancers kept me going all night - as soon as I would slow down, it seemed like everyone else was picking up my slack which just pushed me forward somehow. I'll say this: BillK522 is my fuc*in hero! That dood had the dance-hammer down ALL nite long. I'm certain a 3rd set at hyper-speed would've been no problem for him. Next Level. After-show was simply outstanding despite being over in the blink of an eye! So nice to see old friends old and meet some new ones! Great people just made it so very awesome! Just as I said last year: DSO is a world-class band who simply blew apart a world-class venue! Feel very sore but very blessed!

Aiko, Black-Throated Wind, Friend of the Devil, On the Road Again, Ramble On Rose, All Over Now, Broken Arrow, Liberty, Let It Grow > Day Job Help > Slipknot > Franklins, Corrina > Dark Star > D/S > Low Spark Tease > Hey Jude > I’ll Take a Melody > GDTRFB White Rabbit Venue was filled out without being too crowded. 1st set had a 90’s feel - great BTW, Ramble on Rose, FOTD. Let It Grow before Day Job was my highlight. 2nd set just ripped it - wicked Dark Star. Outta space they made my jaw hit the floor. Low Spark - clear as day. It had a few of us goin nuts! I was strapping myself in for the ride and after a solid minute, it began to lose its structure. Nooooooooo.........! The saving grace was a brilliant Hey Jude - sweetness with raw power. A calipso-infused I’ll take a Melody, yielded to a bone-rattling GDTRFB. As it opened I had enough space to sprint in a circle - it’s true: the faster we go, the rounder we get! As it really got goin, I stayed with the tempo and it felt like I was trying My hand at bull riding! Luckily I was thrown off just as it crashed to close. Wow! White Rabbit had that mystical vibe and lovely Lisa simply slayed it! My most favorite music with very, very special people. Those two things together are right up there with the tippy-top things in life. Thanks DSO and crew! That Low Spark tease really was quite cruel though Looking foward to the Anthem tonight! Not sure how to summon the energy - 2 gallons of water and mucho protein is where I’m starting. See you freaks tonight ❤️

The band had to scrap it presumably due to time constraints. Their 'planned' setlist originally included it. Interesting to see Watchtower, Women, and Wheel in the 1st stanza.....
