  1. That was a great show! Mango you called what show this was on the second song that night. If I remember right original venue couldn't be played and this was in an old firehouse. Turned out to be a perfect venue for a 69 show!
  2. Wow. That's how you start a tour! Happy for people that made it.
  3. Best indoor venue I've ever seen dso. Mango See you in st Augustine!
  4. The Anthem is the best indoor venue I have seen Dark Star at. Been there every year and will hope to make it for what is it, fourth time. Great Sound and friendliest attendants/security. One year after I believe it was help slip Franklin's security saw me leaning against the rail trying to catch my breath before the next song and asked if I needed water I said no a minute later they came up and gave me two bottles of water . Later that night a security woman saw me dancing and came up to me, pulled me off to the side, wanted to talk to me, she asked me if I am going to be all right ? I looked at her and realized she thought I was tripping my ass off . When I told her I hadn't taken any drugs in like 20 years she said sure sure but will you be okay tonight. LOL she couldn't believe somebody could have that much fun without drugs.. If you are not staying too far from the venue take Uber there and back. You will thank me!
  5. Although New Jersey gets a bad rap it is a good place to live. It is the Garden State and not sure how I would fare without Jersey corn and Jersey tomatoes not to mention all the other great fruits and vegetable grown here. I have spent 10 plus years traveling into New York City daily, Manhattan Brooklyn mostly. I would much rather live where I live and travel to the city. It takes just as much time for me to go to the city as to the beach or to Ken Lockwood Gorge or many other areas that are beautiful parts of New Jersey. I couldn't handle living anywhere near a place like "try that small town" I get very nervous when I am surrounded by nothing but Caucasian people. Except at a Grateful Dead like event...
  6. Airports, decent hospitals, good italian resturants, seafood, cultural arts and culture in general are a few reasons I Haven't moved to the sticks!
  7. I haven't heard Northeasterners complaining. I guess it's relative to who you have in your circle πŸ™‚ Rude you can always hop on a plane and go see the band possibly the Northeast where the highest concentrations of deadheads in the nation are!
  8. Technology was absolutely available 20-25 years ago. I would have loaded data into a flex grid and written the code in Oracle using sql which would give you endless parameters to search by. Oracle at the time was the premiere relational database. By 2001 this could be done on a laptop.
  9. Nice site! I am just wondering did you use Oracle code for your search parameters? I had an idea about doing something like this 20 years ago.
  10. Rude Best comedy read all week πŸ˜† I have to agree with the guys comment about Revolution Ft Lauderdale being a shitty venue. Worst venue since Starland Ballroom! I can picture the people that gave those reviews at the shows saying to their friends "I hope they play that good song...
  11. After nursing sciatic during the first night second night was pleasurably awesome! Hey Pocky way set the funky energy as an opener and half step set the groove for a smooth flowing night. Lisa as always knocked it out of the park with strange man.THANK YOU LISA! Corrina Alligator Mountain Jam Dew perfect night. Wyoming has a very chill deadheads that added to the vibe. We had a great time dancing and listening to a band Beyond description. Why would we want to see anybody else?
  12. The ledges were the best! Jubilee sounded like fun but not a fan of rocks and I've never been one to go to shows for the party. Even when I was into "partying". My loss sounds like it was great. Now if we can get the rug people onboard maybe...
  13. Sounds like a fun show and great venue! Cool that you get the high without the high 😎
  14. Penn's Peak was great and seemed like old timesπŸ˜€
  15. Doc I meant to call you yesterday to see if you were ok with all the weather coming through your way. Happy you are well. Enjoy the shows. We won't be there, Lexi (shih zhu) operated on last week. She's good but needs blood test every other day for about another week.
  16. The Super 8 used to be very cool before your time rude. Psychedelic dance Fest till the sun came up. The last couple years I was there it was more of a drunken powder Fest and haven't been back since. I miss the days of the like-minded tight-nit community
  17. DSO and Albany never disappoints! First night was well played and had a great time. Saturday show- After great dinner with good friends. I was never a fan of feels like a stranger and that continues to be my least favorite opener. Dire Wolf was good loose Lucy was exceptionally funky and fun and when Rob B started mentioning Pig Pen I saw Lisa take a step towards the mic and was pretty sure two souls in communion was next. Dark Star does that like the dead never did and it was the Best I Ever Heard not to put pigpen down but the harmonies that DSO brings are very well appreciated. Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart Shakedown was exceptionally exceptional high energy fun. Box of Rain Wharf rat was an excellent way to open the second set and the Corrina, (that song that never liked with the dead) had DSO as always bring a funkiness to it that makes it a jamming dance tune. Low spark again was the best I ever heard dso perform!!! Imagine out of d/s sans lyrics was perfect. Have they ever done it with lyrics, if not when will they drop it on us? Like a road, playing was done well and the Oh Darling was the 4th time I've heard it and the Best Yet! So in October I was fishing and could not walk more than 50 ft in the sand because my calves tightened up with painful cramps. After going to vascular surgeon they said arteries and veins are good saw my heart doctor she said no changes at all it is probably not that,. I saw my hematologist, I have polycythemia vera -too thick blood and had three pints of blood taken in a month from late December into January. I still had problems... In November Mississippi half step opener in Wisconsin I danced about 45 seconds and barely made it to a seat without falling. Mississippi opener first night danced all the way through and danced about 2/3 of the first set and a little of the second set. Saturday night I was able to dance 2/3 of the first set and about half of the second set maybe a little more πŸ˜€ We had a great crew up in the balcony dancing with all the room in the world and healing spirit of good friends! Love you Dark Star Orchestra you continue to heal my mind body and spirit πŸ˜‚πŸŒΉπŸ˜Žβ€
  18. That was a great show. Fun time with good friends!
  19. First real concert I think was Mountain at Capital Theater. The following that was and I don't know what order bands like Led Zeppelin Madison Square Garden David Bromberg McCarter Theater Grateful Dead Roosevelt Stadium Outlaws Capitol Theater New Riders of the Purple Sage kingfish Grateful Dead up and down the East Coast for years then started to venture out Alpine Valley Etc
  20. Thanks Mango for truth! As a patron the cap has history and that's about all. About 10 years ago I blew my knee out on that slanted floor and had most of the summer into the fall booked. Tickets, hotels flights and hobble danced best I could. Even had to dance on 1 leg next to the wall at Napa... Fuck slant floor venues, they are a hazard to anyone that does more than bop to the music!
  21. Great elective! DSO never stops amazing me. Very high energy show. I thought the first set took a little time for the band to tighten up but once they did Stellar performance. I was able to dance a little more last night and than before. Had a very hard time standing up when Terrapin started but once I straightened out was able to dance a few minutes until the pain in my legs got too great. (circulation Sciatica?) Had to sit down and watching Nicole and DSO family that I love so much brought joy then I had to wipe tears away thinking I may never be able to participate again like I used to... Feel like a Stranger is one of those songs I've had a hard time wrapping my head around. I just couldn't ever get in the groove until about 6 years ago started to see the Merit in the song/music and last night I got it. It was super funky and probably the best I have ever heard Any where when! Now I get it what a freaking song it is! Love you Dark Star, love you all my friends ✌❀
  22. Milwaukee both nights were exceptional! Got a good dose of Lisa's true Talents with oh darling strange man and Piece of My Heart! Both nights were Stellar I liked second night more than the first night. It could be because I was able to dance just a little bit more on second night. Dealing with circulation in calves can only danced 2/3 of the way through half step first night second night I was able to dance for maybe six to 10 minutes through the whole night. Hope things get better I have a positive outlook on it I'm too young to stop dancing πŸ™‚ Milwaukee is definitely a cool town and in our radar for next year if played a two night weekend!
  23. Love you Doc! Best of luck on your recovery and yes you will dance again :-)
