  1. Local Billy strings show just announced for here in January too. Liking what I’m seeing so far from the lineup. Although everything after 3 nights of DSO is just gravy anyways. Can’t wait
  2. I’ve always told the boys I want that to lay me down played at my funeral.
  3. I respect the guy as a performer and a songwriter. He has a very dedicated fan base. And I know we can all identify with that. I’ve heard the same positive reviews about his live performances. I’d hold my tongue if I was ever up east. Lol. My boy has a similar dislike for John Mellencamp. And living in Indiana I have to tell him to dial it back. People love that guy round here. 😆😂
  4. So before I start the story I’ll just apologize ahead of time if you are a fan. I am not but didn’t know I hereditarily passed the hatred down until today. Had a a meeting with counselors at my sons school today. Routine thing we do once a year just to make sure he isn’t falling behind in anything. Teachers each sent notes to the meeting and most were just usual stuff. “He is fine” ”well behaved” “no problems” Now some of you know how he is with his knowledge of music and it’s not limited to the Grateful Dead. I’d put him up against just about anyone in music trivia of 50’s 60’s and 70’s music. Anyhow then we get to his radio teachers comments ”Luke is very enthusiastic in my class and is a joy to teach.......... except when he often debates me telling me how Bruce Springsteen sucks and how overrated he is” I laughed through the whole meeting after that. Literally shed tears and offered to excuse myself. 😆😂😆 Again sorry if the Boss is your guy but I had to share somewhere.
  5. My youngest just added that to his record collection last weekend. Killing time in Bloomington record shop picking big bro up at school on the way to Egyptian Room.
  6. I’m ashamed I missed a home state show. Especially after the set list and venue reviews. After the mini run last week I couldn’t swing two weeks in a row. Also love going to Columbus but don’t think that’s in the cards either. Enjoy the road and safe travels everyone
  7. I knew I was leaving something out. Thanks man.
  8. Original Bertha walkin blues stagger lee stuck inside of mobile cumberland easy to slip mission Here comes sunshine jack straw Box women are smarter New Speedway Boogie Estimated UJB Drums/space imagine (instrumental) UJB reprise Throwing Stones Dew Sugar Mags Filler Strange Man Good god man my cup runneth over. My youngest who is a freak for the old school stuff said tonight’s may have topped Wednesday’s show for him. Got a lot of firsts for him. Oldest got to join us for this one. I may be on the bench from now til jubilee. Hopefully a date will pop up between now and then but enjoy the road and the shows because I know I sure as hell did. *Also may be missing 1 or 2 and order may be off but it should be close. (I had help) lol
  9. He just turned 16, and I think he passed me in height just over this little 3 day run. Oldest got to join us tonight in Indy.
  10. 11-30-79 filler: the weight Drums———— holy shit
  11. I let my son off at the door so I could go park and within 5 minutes got a text ’69 down and dirty. Guaranteed”. He was in heaven. Lol
  12. The goods indeed. Highlights for me were alligator, H2H, maybe the best eleven I’ve ever gotten, lovelight, death don’t always sends chills. I dont think I’ll ever get tired of hearing any of the songs played in that “live dead” type 2nd set. Just exactly perfect.
  13. I always assumed it was venue dependent. I may be wrong but like Egyptian Room in Indy never does it. So I just assumed it’s venue related. I could definitely be wrong tho
  14. An hour and a half drive each way. I call that “local” 😆😂 will review if I make it
  15. Anyone ever seen the Garcia project? Supposed to be in Covington (near Cincinnati) Saturday. Don’t think they’ve played down this way before or if they have I haven’t heard. They recreate JGB shows I think. I may try to make it up that way.
  16. I saw him at Wanee 2 years ago. He sat in with WSP and Mule and a ton of other acts plus his band played multiple sets and they played on a stage trailer that drove through the campground and there was a train of people dancing and following it. Was the first I’d ever heard of him but he could tear it up
  17. All the cornmeal talk had me reminiscing about jubilee 1. Great music, shit weather, but good vibes prevailed and great times were had.
  18. They’ve both been to around 20ish DSO shows. Oldest a few more because he’s been to a couple Jubilees without my youngest but he got like 4 or 5 “firsts” over the 2 BM shows and was thrilled that he went.
  19. He learned his lesson the hard way about the mulchy dance floor. Feet were killing him by the end of night 1. 😆😂
  20. Boy am I glad I made the trip. Aretha space was powerful stuff. Both shows knocked it out of the park, my boy fell in love with the mountains. I got to put a few more faces to names in here which is always awesome. Next time I get down that way without the kids I’m gonna try to be more social pre/post show, although I prefer to deal with the popo as little as possible. 😆😂

Man, missing these acoustic shindigs hurts my soul. Looks like you guys are gettin the goods. Enjoy
  22. I’ve got a “makes no difference” while I’ve never had a TN show. Possibles being the acoustic show in Bloomington And the “was supposed to be a ‘72 but ended up being a original in the style of ‘72” at the Vogue in Indy, also my only “two souls”
  23. Man did I? My boy and I had a slice a day and may have went back for a 2nd one night. They were really on top of their game this year too. Sam and I talked about it may have been the best we’ve ever had although it could have been because it had been a whole year without it. 😆😂
