I'm sitting here in reintegration limbo. It was a perfect weekend with perfect shows and perfect family. That made it just exactly perfect.

The weekend was brilliant in conception and flawless in execution. In that respect it differs from one of the participants in last night's game. It pains me to make that comparison and I fully share the depletion depression.

DSO Re-entry is one of those unique emotions that has it's own category. The only immediate salve is reflection and longing

Glad the J.E.P effect was predominant :)

Nice...perfection achieved over a long weekend. Keep riding the wave. I hope you escape the old PSD come Thursday or Friday...("Post-Show Downer")

I'm afraid the Only cure for that would be a plane ticket to portland to finish off the tour...

I realized u get 1 or 2 days bliss per show. I think some of it is having an insane workout and reaping those rewards. So in order to be cool til jubilee, u need to see 15 more shows.

But doesn't the ratio change depending on how far you have traveled for a show? I think the farther you travel then somehow you are rewarded with the potential of extra bliss. I haven't figured out the minutes of bliss per mile traveled yet, but this is deep science for sure.

I was good for about a week after New Years so about 1.75 days per show. After jubilee 1 I was good for a week or 2.33 days per show but after last years cold jubilee it was about 1 day per show. So that means that the warmer the venue the more days per show. A 70 degree indoor venue in the winter is aboot 1.75 days. During the summer a climate controlled venue is 2 days per. And an outdoor warm one can approach 2.5. Outdoor cold is the worst though.

*not a scientific study. Results may vary.

Ahh shit, I didn't factor in temperature or indoor/outdoor comparisons. This is going to take years to completely get to the bottom of, considering all of the variables. I'm going to keep experimenting and closely examining the results...

Also there is the quality of airport index, road trip scenery index, ambient humidity index (think summer at Dewey Beach), and of course the all important floor space factor. I will be getting a booster at Portland and Eugene. Let's work on a Grand Unified Theory after that.

The friend factor is important as well. The bigger the group the longer the positive vibes after. A warm jubilee this year may result in a 2 week afterglow.

A 2 week vapor trail of bliss would indeed be very impressive and perhaps previously undocumented territory. Keep scrupulous field notes Rude,,,i look forward to comparing results with you in the future.

Glad you are heading in for the booster, Chuck. I suspect you will feel completely Oregonized after treatment...

I think rude and island bro have earned themselves a late night slot at the jubilee performing stand up

Try these:

People say pot-smokers are lazy. I disagree; I’m a multitasking pot-smoker: just the other day I was walking down the street, I was putting eyedrops in my eyes, I was talking on my cell phone, and I was getting hit by a car.  What a great crowd!

I could tell my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and a radio.  You guys are great!

Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one - and let the other one off.  I'm here all week :)

Finally made it off the road and into family arms to relax in the bay and take in the last three shows I haven't yet reviewed.  AHHHHH.

Canyon Club was set to deliver, and deliver it did! From the moment we walked in and had cuddles in big chairs and reunions all over the room we knew the night would be magic.  I felt the electricity and even though SOME people didn't make it, all good things in ALL good time! ;)

US blues opened with stomping rigor and ridiculous looseness and we found ourselves right in front of Rob B in the second row which was great for just walking up as the show began.  i counted 23 beats to biodtl but it was probably only 20.  great starting to the shows and confirmed my 74 suspicions (which had begun that morning and were mostly confirmed by Mango walking up and calling "6/23" just bf show time - pretty good, dude, only 3 days off!) BEW had me looping and swooping and I danced it out through mexicali and the band was just glowing off of the stage.

roses jack straw scarlet were especially fun to get in a row as the dancing was really smooth and uplifting through this segment.  i shook hands with some table sitters and there was a little confusion as to what I was doing but they got it in the end ;) THANK YOU magical vortex that is DSO for NOT leaving me there. must have been the roses. now we share the women and the wine.  i love my life. got shown the light.

AND THEN UNCLE!?! ok, ok, this set isn't NEAR over, I realized, and that was COOL to get a handle on.  HERE WE GO! it had seemed like we had already been dancing all night, maybe I was overexerting? ………nah!!!! the lay me down wrapped me in silken sheets of melodies warming my soul from the inside out.  floating away……. as El Paso chimed in and put me back in my body I was not quite aware of how cowboy I was gonna be feeling over the next three shows but in reflection I think I knew and I started giggling a little madly…. that ever happen to you? the insanity giggles because you feel like you are in on a secret at the show for now apparent reason at that particular moment as you listen to the music play and though the secret has no name you GET IT? yeah, it was like that, kind of. I LOVE Eaton el paso!!!!!! LOVE!

china rider and we are winding down the first set but it feels like we are just getting juiced! spinning madness throughout the room and I was grateful to still be in our spacious front spot.  by around squared we were ready for the break but couldn't stop going round and round!!!

heavenly set break, actually sold some bracelets and traded a patch for some mead and a cassidy shirt with his pic and "may your life proceed by its own design" on the back (which I then cut up to fit - was XL - and wore to the first TXR night 2 days later where they played the show with the first cassidy since they had stopped playing it - well timed!).  back into the show and this time there was no space left up front so we found Chuck and decided to do the dance around the entire room for the night deal.  GREAT decision.  was the set and perfect venue for it, so much room to dance if you moved around to find it.  even made it to dance with Buddha at one point- powerful, had my dorje instead of crystal in hand - appropriate.

big river!!!!!! whoohoooo gonna be gooood!!! we started doing the spin through the room and we made it to our homie from Ned and we came with and the couple he got tix for and we had a blast finally finding them to dance.  really great Ship, the whole place was diggin it.

truckin!!!! perfect! we knew we were headed out from our 3 week stay in malibu the next morning, and it was exciting to be going on tour, but I am gonna miss that yogi I am leaving behind in Malibu…. oh, the lovers I have to leave to get back truckin on….  one of these days, you KNOW they better be goin!  whoa now, jamming out, everyone still on stage, it's about to get heavy!!! when Eyes started we headed back to the Chuck zone and eventually I took Gabe over to the Santa Cruz dancers so he could experience the rainbow madness.  good feet wetting, nice wade in.  I MISSED YOU GUYS so much, its good to be back! kiss kiss!

tied up the knot and got hung out to dry.  china doll.  i didn't really know how much i needed this after some heavy life experiences over the last few winters, but I think I get it now.  it's not about redemption.  it is about SURRENDER.  thank you, DSO, you allow me to practice the application of all that I have learned.

closed out the set on beautiful waves of energy and we kept doing the spin through all parts of the room, especially hanging with Chuck cause he was there to spin with.  Love you brother, see u this weekend!

like i told you other Dork Stars in the back…. Skip's Box makes me wet.  his box is sooooo hot and sexy!!! hehehe.  you could just sink right in….. ok ok ok…. seriously, WTF, SKIP!?!?! YOU are the MISSING link! thank you thank you thank you thank you Rob B I loved your Box and all but, SKIP, HOLY MOLY!!!

soaring and uplifting 4th street.  positively flipped it to make a song of moving forward instead of being stuck in the past.  i LOVE this song, and this was a really special version because it got me so HIGH.

A WOOOOOO!!!! werewolves!!! magic show, magic venue, magic band, magic people, magic love.

love love love love love LA is AWESOME! I will NEVER talk shit on LA ever again…. totally my new CA home.

couldn't get any "last night" satisfaction in malibu, but snuggles are always nice.  this is why i couldn't be in an everyday relationship with someone that didn't go to all the shows with me - coming home all jazzed from the show to someone who is half asleep just isn't how to end a night.  whatever…… ON TO THE 1 AND AN EPIC DRIVE! (next review after this doobie….)
