This is an outstanding show that includes

Scarlet->Fire

Estimated->Eyes

That right there is the definition of an outstanding show.

I think there was the show, a Sunday afternoon show, at the Greeks, TDIGDH where it was so sweltering hot that our mic stand guy collapsed from the heat in the second set. It was his turn to sport the AKG 460's in a horn hat with cables running down his pant leg to a D5 operated by the second crew member that set. I didn't make this series but picked up the equipment after the four shows in Alpine to record the rest of summer tour. Didn't do Oxford Plains, regrettably after hearing the fantasy.

April 29 = my daughter’s birthday 😊

The GD show for this date is 1971 at Fillmore East.

Final Second That Emotion and final Alligator.  Killer show, overall.

You’ll still find me on street corners preaching about 4/29/71 being the greatest performance the Dead ever did, which of course includes the best Hard to Handle ever performed. Tea has a rookies ear and really just doesn’t listen to enough GD to weigh in on this topic. Nice guy tho.

That’s a good one, gotta check it out. I’m guessing a late era Race is on, second set opening reads like a first set opener, Playin’ into Eyes must be heard, I think. I’m on my way…

Race Is On for the Derby, as were a few of those that followed.  Fantastic show, last time that China/Rider closed a first set.

Alpine 84, with the night before spacing into Dear Mr Fantasy and the following shows being the Greek series with the Friday the 13th experiment. That Fantasy was a big deal around here in 84, made Alpine a destination site for years to come, getting bigger and longer until the final rainout series in 89 and the end of the most spectacular parking lot camping EVER

July 22, 1984.  Ventura County Fairgrounds.  As most of you may know, this venue is literally on the beach.  Skull and Roses Festival takes place there every year.

Show has a Dancin opener, I Just Want to Make Love to You, Dew out of Space, and two encores.

Also, apparently Jerry thinks that some woman named Bertha should not ever come around there anymore.

For 7-22-84 Ventura, listen to Loser as loud as possible, paying particular attention to the Phil bomb at the end of the jam and Jerry's ensuing vocals.  Good shit!

7-25-74 @ International Amphitheater - Chicago, IL

While not the only time it was done, I love the Slipknot! ditty (best description I can think of) at the end Dark Star. Nothing insane about this show other than it's wonderfully tight
