So I borrowed and updated Bobs "Let Trey Sing" T-Shirt idea for my DSO Columbia Speedway Show. I have always been a huge Lisa Fan (and Donna too) so I had a "Let Lisa Sing" t-shirt custom made. Fortunately for me, our "Pod" was next to the sound board and the soundman (Conners?) seen my shirt and took a photo and said he would forward it to Lisa. I told him to let her know I want a photo with her, this was 30 min prior to show starting. So 7:PM come around and no photo op so I got as close to the stage as I dared until Lisa seen my shirt. She smiled and waved in appreciation so happy with that, I returned to our assigned POD. Now fast forward to intermission and my friends and I were sitting and talking then behind me I hear someone say "alright lets do this". When I turned around imagine my surprise to see Lisa standing there! I jumped to my feet and my friend Scarlett quickly grabbed her cell phone and I got my photo with Lisa! Yes Lisa did sing her usual backing vocals as it was an elective set then for the encore she belted out The Stranger! Wow!!! Lisa, thank you for making my night! You (and all the fellas in the band) are just awesome every time!7 points

Oh boy ! Harmonica and Pigpen! Satisfying like a Sunday brunch ! I loved this show so much! Notes- No lead in beats on the BIODTL. Big RR super fun dancing abounded Drums in Good Lovin were solid.... And the Cumberlands was just what I wanted. Haha. ๐ The band did a great job getting the show completed with impending curfew. Pigpen though didnโt get to talk to the fellas about his sweet girl. He ran outta time. I guess they have to figured it out on their own down in South Cakalacki. big thanks to DSO and the crew! Yโall lbrightened it up around here right on time. Hope you enjoyed the city- just gotta poke around- plus ..... in addition to fantastic food like Lizardโs Thicket- we have colorful mascots/ icons ๐ AND Bill Murray! Come back soon! ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ด6 points

I knew it was going to be a magical weekend when I saw a ๐ as I pulled off the ๐ฃ to pick up my friend from the โ๏ธ ! Add finding a matching pair of earrings, one Friday and the other Saturday, on the ground in our roped off spot. ๐ The banked track of the speedway encircled the inner field that had little roped off areas. Individual โcorralsโ were great import we were going to Giddy Up! Land of the Golden Corral- the musical smorgasbord of the Grateful Dead. The ๐ถ was ๐ ! Fun ๐คฉ crowd of deadheads all ages! Easy, very sweet laid back staff. There was an option to have ๐บ ๐ฆ delivered if you had the mind or the time. Nice jumbo screens. Cotter socked in the sound. Dave did a jam up job with lighting Everyone around danced early. The Low Spark had inspired licks from Jeff and Barraco sounds great as always! WRS was lovely. They putzed/ teasing around with the frozen logger a bit as some point. It had been soundchecked. Ran out of time after long DS and Dark Star really did crash. Single verse and ended too quickly. The Strange Man was powerful! It brought the house down, like Lisa knows how! I saw good friends who were a sight for sore eyes! It blessed my soul and now they are gone. ๐ time to plan next one ๐6 points

The band reported this as the first time theyโd recreated it. What a great night. I guess we were all so good Sat night, they pretty much dropped all security and safety protocols for Sun night. Pretty light crowd due to torrential rains earlier in the day and it being Sun night. Perfect set list right in the wheelhouse of my favorite era. Good sound, good video (stage was kinda dark and hard to see), pain in the ass to get beverages (thanks Mike!) my highlights were Cumberland and the pig songs, plus the cowboy songs, and most def the Stephen, fade sandwich. For you dancers show the point in the show where you can catch a breather. Haha, ainโt one. Thanks to the band crew and the smiling swirling angels that made my experience euphoric.6 points

I was way to thrown back by the weekend to complete a review last night. There is something in this music and watching those who love it in real time that makes one speechless. Trying to find words for feelings that run so deep is at times complicated. We all have individual constructs of what we see and feel as beautiful. Yet, as humans, we are able to share, relate, and understand the overlaps of our individual constructs. Its amazing when the overlap occurs in close proximity. The energy feeds, fuels, and opens up our minds to the thoughts and feelings of others with out speaking them. To communicate with out words is the most intimate of anything shared between people. Its something that I do not yet have the words to fully describe. I can only describe it as breathtakingly beautiful. It literally changes the way I see the world--both the macro and micro. May not be ready, but definitely encouraged to write the first book on Quantum Mechanics and Dancing Heads. Entanglement occurs for us as much as it occurs for the spin of a paired particle. I need more shows to research this phenom------Can anyone say tax write offs for research!!!!!! The last night In SC was more than one could ever ask. There were so many highlights. The people I got to dance with are some of the people I love most in this world. The music is the "Flavor" that brought us all together. The set list says it all. There were some things I never heard before. PG dead on----no bumps or no thumps before BIODTL. Rob just started singing. How fun getting one of the favorites with a change....it threw me off for a second. FOTD was fast--more western---and a delight!!! It hurts me too----thanks Rob----we felt it----its confusing for the mind to feel the pain yet be happy dancing to it. Who can honestly say the music does not make you grow as a individual. Learn about your feelings and how to manage the internal conflicts. Yes----its more then dancing to quality sounds. Its a reflective process that forces us to grow in front of everyone--In real time!!! China/Rider-----YAY!!!!! St. Stephen---always a highlight. Huge highlight of the night. Thank you DSO for hitting it hard!! Felt like I was dancing on air. Nothing no longer grounded my body---a arrow straight and narrow hitting every sweet beat. GDTRFB------Always played well. Tonight no different. But---to share it with people I love, again--special beyond words. Love light----I am unable to comment and share----I can say DSO did its job and put smiles, thoughts, dreams into hopes and wishes. Never underestimate the power of hope----Hope has moved mountains, cured diseases, and transformed lives. So nice to be able to share a brief glimpse of how a single show can have such big impacts on a individual life----because its so much more than music!!!---It is with out a doubt a rare and different tune. Thank you guys---thank you Lisa-----thank you for all those who I shared the weekend with. Now keeping a journal -- I never want to forget the joy you all bring!!!4 points

Good size group of backwoods rednecks who somehow found their way to the show.... the band is delicately noodling their way out of space into that gorgeous weather report suite and one of them yells out โQuit fuckin around and play some goddamn music. We been waitin long enough!!โ. ๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐4 points

Worth mentioning that if you were lucky enough to be in Frederick, MD 10/31/20 when they played 10/31/70, and then Cayce, SC 6/6/21 when they played 10/30/70 that completes the incredible 2 night stand at Pritchard Gym, SUNY with NRPS. What a special treat that there is only one way to get! Thanks DSO.3 points

I have never been so embarrassed for ignorance in my life. As a younger man, I might have had a talk with these guys. Wisdom comes with age----so I threw my self reflection vibe there way. It will take about a week. That redneck will be on forums with in a year begging for a WRS like they produced this night. It came out of a space that was so much fun. Skip was awesome during the night. So excited. So much chatter, but when he got involved in the drums during drum space transition, we knew from his facial expressions that they too are like us----kids in big bodies with talent!!!! Following up on PG's comment-----Strange Man was amazing. Lisa's vocals were so powerful I found myself no longer dancing but moving through a dense medium of vibrations that filled every molecule of air. Quantum mechanics pushed all that vibrational energy into our souls. To have all your cells vibrate with Lisa's powerful sounds is at the very least----spiritual. We are so lucky---3 points

The night was super fun and jaw dropping. The weather report was so beautifully constructed, developed, and executed. We are all so lucky to have access this. More dance space than anyone could ask for. The company shared was top notch. Heart bending. The weather was perfect for the heat. The light rain fell on hot sweaty bodies just enough to keep the hot trot dancing cool. Why can't this happen every day?3 points

Couldnโt agree more with the Lisa comments. She is underrated, I believe. Plus, how fortunate we are to recognize and appreciate the playing by the entire band. If we had to explain it to those ignorant attendees, they wouldnโt get it anyway.1 point

They came back out and played the weight. I listened to stream from Drums thru the end.1 point
