  1. West LA the first night and Loser the second was killer. The Crazyfingers out of the gate let us know it was going to be a special show. Little did we know it was all heading towards the 6/24 recreation. Man, I was soooo happy right from the Alabama opener, đŸ€žđŸ€ž and it happened, couldnt have been a better set of shows at a better venue. Just being able to say "set of shows" in Cincinnati is a treat. RL blows the madison and the taft theatre. Hands down the best venue in the area and the staff are KIND. It was really nice to meet, spend time with and dance with folks on the forum and also new cincy people, felt like family â€đŸŽ¶âšĄ

  2. I was kinda bummed we got Help/Slip but no Franklin, but still a fantastic show for the Vortex! In Columbus I was treated to Help/Slip/Watchtower/Slip/Franklin earlier this year so I won't complain 😄

  3. I was there, in accordance with my new stealth DL business model. Like comedy, timing in seeing shows is everything.

  5. And let me give a big DSO “howdy” to the new Vorty (a whole separate entity from the band’s Vort). Ladies and gentleman, I am serving notice that Shawn V has game.

  6. I just want to thank the band and crew for coming to Cincy for a two night run. The weather and shows were fantastic. As previously mentioned, the sound was fantastic. Good to see all the usual suspects and meet some new ones. Really hope this keeps up without interruption through the colder months.

  7. Alabama Getaway Greatest Story Ever Told They Love Each Other New Minglewood Blues Tennessee Jed My Brother Esau Loser Let it Grow Iko Iko Samson and Delilah He's Gone Smokestack Lightnin' Cryptical Envelopment drums Comes a Time The Other One Cryptical Envelopment Wharf Rat Around and Around Good Lovin' U.S. Blues f: box I love Dso 80’s shows and this one smoked. My only issue is during this 85 run starting with the June Berkley shows, Healy was going nuts with his new toys playing with Bobby’s vocal delay. It was very over the top for sure but that echo effect was so trippy and I’m sure that effect melted many a face. I don’t think cotter was a fan of how these shows were originally done as this original Riverbend show had so so much delay and sound movement and the Dso version didn’t. That greatest story had Bobby’s vocals on a crazy delay originally but not in this show. Yes I know jerry wasn’t really a fan of Healy’s effects but I think that’s what makes 85-87 really unique. I wish there was at least a little bit of this in the recreation. That being said it was a phenomenal show and we were engaged fully from start to end. Cryptical through wharf rat was one of the best segments I’ve ever heard. The sound in front of the PA’s was so powerful i didn’t realize I’d stopped dancing and let the music overpower me. That venue has some great sound. 20 feet back in front of the left or right PA was sound perfection. Skips bass was so clean and he rocked it. Was weird that the sound in the middle wasn’t near as good as the left and right. It was great because the dancer area with all the space in the world had better sound than the more crowded middle. Was surprised to see several Bay Area, Nevada, Maryland and east coast friends as well as the Indiana and Ohio friends we knew we’d see. Wonderful weekend. Summertime come and gone my oh my.

  13. Always room for kind heads. I'm the Joel who lives in Denver about 8 blocks from the so many roads dead museum and brewery. Melvin plays there all the time. Walk to the show lol. I think I need a better screen name alias. Why not
