Meticulously crafted 2nd set. Just a smokin HSF then. Groovy easy to slip into Rider. Then to cap the pre drum segment Expressway to the oxygen tank. That expressway kept me dancing tribal through the 1st several minutes of drums. Now that's a freakin groove. The crowd really let loose 2nd set. Sorry Dead and Co, but you aren't on this level.

The music was great but the coming together of friends from all walks of life to celebrate this music is what makes it so special to me. We feasted with good friends and lived in a fantasy house for 4 days. We had aboit 25 people over Saturday night who I all now call good friends. My lady who is new to the dead and and will never have the same connection to the music that we all have had an amazing time and got almost no sleep to make sure we had this spectacular Saturday meal. She is always warmly welcomed and thinks the world of all of you. She is always amazed by all the love in this community and always looks forward to new tour experiences and I'm very grateful for that.

Still smiling as I get closer and closer to home. Until the next show....

Great little acoustic pre show courtesy of M. Reynolds with Rob E, Rob B, and JM taking turns in the tap room.

I believe a Blow Away was in that first set somewhere but am unable to place exactly...am I correct or crazy? Both could be possible.

I don't remember exactly where blow away was, but it was played and I liked it very much, I enjoyed the whole show very much (even the songs that don't usually ring my bell that much). DSO was having lots of fun, there crowd was into the show and dancing, I was chair bopping trying to show MC some new moves (he wasn't paying attention so now I have to go to Mercer and Maine to show him again, sigh). Anyways......it was great to hang with all you guys at the show and at the houses. I'm figuring out my Fall tour plans now and will be seeing some of you guys then

had an amazing time with friends; miss you all already.

loved the fiery Bucket to get it started, then a veryy groovy West LA, loved the Esau, Wang Dang, and Tom Thumb, the Blow Away was definitely before Dixie, also was delivered with great energy, the Stranger was one of my night's highlights, blew my mind, made me so happy, they were cruising, ..Some things we just know...

The HelpSlip Franks was off the charts, every note was perfect, slipknot was so silky and strong

the unexpected, glorious surprise was what followed - Easy to Slip> I know you Rider, Expressway

Easy to slip beautiful song selection after the monster Franks, flowed seamlessly into Rider, And expressway had a seriously funky, euphoric groove into drumz

the flip of the Dso switch from dialed in 69 to this 80s style elective was extremely impressive!

leaving me wanting a 3rd nght in Blk Mtn / wishing they werent going rght back to the Northeast..

I think it's time for a 3 night black mountain run next summer. It's such a fun destination and there are always great crowds!!!! Thurs-Sat or Friday-Sunday works for me, or better yet, a 6-show run. Think of all the wear and tear avoided on the bus!!

Think of all the sad people of a Virginia and Delaware that wouldn't get shows if they did 6 there. 6 show runs are for the motivated not the lazy. Feel fortunate to get the 2 pack one place but don't mind moving around sharing this magic with more and more people. Those that need it seem to make it.

Missed you all for the second round! So big hugs and thank you's!! It absolutely fills my heart like a hot air balloon to dance it down to the ground with my peeps. You are the best in the world.

Missed you too PG - all of us were looking forward to seeing you. Until next time - hopefully that won't be too long.

Not a big fan of the song selection but the way they played everything more than made up for any preconceived notions.

An in-your-face '80's style - 1st set Tom Thumbs, Blow Away, West LA, and Dixie were my highlights. That West LA is still with me - really, really good.

2nd set - The HSF was about as good as just about any other I've heard. The Rider + Expressway were right there too - so many twists and turns with each but both were absolutely fluid! Drums had a passage with Cicada sounds that filled back in live after the music was done - that was pretty cool.

Post-Drums was excellent even if the opening notes of She Belongs to me had me thinking Visions of Johanna. Around x2 can be a little formulaic but this one was a border-line stunner! Really, really excellent.

The true highlight was living in the lap of luxury with so many wonderful people. The chateau at Dreams End was amazing - that place was bursting with great energy! I'd like to take that ride again :)

I thought they really were playing well on this night.  With a few alternate song selections, this show could have been a powerhouse.

Personally, I would be just fine if I went through life never hearing Wang Dang Doodle, Around & Around, or Blow Away ever again.  You can throw Gimme Some Lovin' and Satisfaction on that list too.  And Can Push Comes to Shove just be discontinued?  I mean seriously, does anyone really like that tune?

Looking over this set list, I'm surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did.

Thanks Tea ! Had hoped you'd get that Visions!! I figured it tugged your heart strings those first notes of She Belongs to me... Did Rudy share his Bidet ???

You all will find this odd or fun or syncopated. You get my drift. Friday night at the show, this fella asked me if I would like sip of beer from his "good Lovin " coozie. The fact he was all about it frankly weirded me out. I hesitated And instantly the song Easy to Slip played in my head with the new words.... It's so easy to sip.... And I passed on it.

I would think the Fire outta space would have been awesome ! Sounds like a meteor when I write it that way. Lol .....was the Good Lovin 80s too ? I love the early bass driven Good Lovins.

This was my 30th show!!!!!!

Thank you to DSO for giving me musical experiences I never could have even hoped to find with the Dead in the 90's!

And thanks for returning the sense of community and connectivity I thought I'd never find again.

Aw- Bix. That is sweet. We love you all and won't be gone too long. Just had something pressing come up early Saturday and had to go. you know...C'est la vie.

" Gone are the days we stop to decide, where we should go, we just ride."

It will make it all the more sweeter when we see you all again. Can't stay away!
