Mojo got his 80's blast!  No Alligator > Viola Lee > Dark Star >  St Stephen > The Eleven > Dark Star > Main Ten > Caution > Alligator > Lovelight > Bid You Goodnite to screw up his night.

Looks like a great time!  The pang of no DSO for me since Colorado is gettin me all kinds of fired up - sorry Mojo.  I'm so ready for liftoff....

Wait.  This is not phallic, it's not.  C'mon, really?  It's NOT!  If I was 'going there' I woulda just used this:

Oh please let me be there when DSO does 10/20/89.  An electric California Earthquake, a Barraco Hey Pocky Way, and a spellbinding Other One Jam - along with Eaton giving Picasso Moon a spin.  Yes, please!

Having missed Hampton 89 night one,

this show was my personal H>S>F breakout.

I was thrilled.

Praise DSO.

Great show! The pre-drums second set was perfect. Best Eyes I’ve ever seen from DSO!

Very Salty I slacked and didn't make this show.  And it was at a new venue for DSO ta boot, any reviews of the Fillmore Philly from those who went last night?  Dancing room, security, amenities, parking lot scene??    Can't wait for Penn's Peak next Wed to get my fix

Security lax ..

ample ga floor space cement floor slight slope to stage

wrap around balcony I did not go up to

no drinks allowed outside in smoking area

9$ beers good selection

some solid deep sound from woofers

good chill friendly crowd

you can park in the casino lot for free and 5 min walk to Fillmore

Barraco’s Blow Away was gold, grabbed and held the audience the entire way. I loved it,  considering not one of my fav songs.

The audience began singing Hey Jude  and the band had to join in. Don’t think ive seen that before

I’d highly recommend seeing this band !

There was some incident in the front row right side during second set that had the band pissed I think

anyone catch this?

Eaton was just wringing the hell out of his guitar. He Kept going up to the front edge of the stage while he was doing this, with a little bit of ‘take that, mother fuckers’ swagger. Skip bombed the fuck out of the place. Jeff’s vocals were sweet. Rob Barracco was doing some crazy shit during space with some kind of instrument or gadget, might have been a widget. 80’s Drums are great for shaking you to the core. Lisa got to shine during the encore. It was all good. Venue was chill. Upgrade from Electric Factory, definitely. The crowd was great. Met some more new friends, got to know some old friends better. I’m so glad I made it. I needed a show.

A song that for me totally embodies the relationship between two incredible talents that speak to one another thru their instruments. They both really shine in this one. Heard Jeff do it last year, I think Atlanta, and he fucking killed it.  Makes me emotional to hear Jerry sing it during this era. He was awesome.

I did both those jgb merriweather shows, alpine and poplar creek. Horn hat AKG 460's > dbx224(battery converted) >d5. The dixie at merriweather, the lonesome at Alpine and the let's spend at poplar were choice. Heading to Louisville this weekend for Uli jon roth , closest thing to hendrix I've ever seen. My first deal was when jg opened for fz August 1984 in Chicago. the studio version is a good listen.

I love this song. I love the record version, and I love how it changed over the years. There were more than a few hot ones in 1983-1984, then while always good, it seems that 1989 brought out extra hot ones again. I love this one with JGB, its a toss up between this one and the Alpine Valley shows from the summer which I like best from that year.

    • The Motorcycle Song -- Arlo Guthrie

I once bought a kitten and he just kept meowing and meowing. He talked quite a bit. Then I started stringing up my guitar that evening, and he came over and started pawing at the frets, meowing meowing meowing. I looked at this overly talkative creature who was now trying to play his dad's guitar, and the name was obvious at once: Arlo.  12 years later, he still talks a lot. Love Arlo Guthrie. Such a unique and funny personality. Have seen him a few times. He always puts on a great show.
